Chapter 27: That Night

"Come out of the water, Kazutora. Let's eat."

Mitsuya called for Kazutora who started to enjoy the cool water. He started to swim towards the others who are now eating. After they gang up on poor Kazutora which lasted for a while, they played around more that they didn't notice that time started to pass by.

"Kazutora"

He turned his head towards the falls...only to find no one.

"Did you hear that?"

"Hmm? Hear what?" Smiley was the closest so him, they are the last to come out of the water. He continued to look around, creeped and weirded out.

They noticed the table filled with food that the girls prepared for all of them.

He took his seat when he hears something again...

"Kazutora..."

This time, the voice is louder and it seemed closer. He frowned his eyebrows and then looked behind him.

"What's wrong, Kazutora?" Pah asked as he started to eat.

"Nothing. Something just...doesn't feel right." He said and then stood up.

At this point, his heartbeat starts to palpitate loud. He starts to get nervous. It's like...something is calling out to him.

"Kazutora, what's up with you?" This time, Draken was the one who asked.

"Nothing. It's just that I think someone called me just now." He said lowly which the others still heard. They looked at each other, wondering what's up with their friend.

"That reminds me, where's Yukino-san?" On cue, what Takemichi said alerted everyone. They turned to one another, only to see none a single strand of the doctor's hair.

The long-haired man's heartbeat starts to beat faster, his anxiety raising.

"Oh she left earlier to look for Chifuyu and Kaori-chan." Hinata replied.

"Chifuyu? He went back to look for Kaori-chan's slippers. She said that it may have fell when he was carrying her earlier." Hakkai innocently said.

"Why would he carry her?" Yuzuha asks his younger brother.

"Kaori-chan said she injured her ankle." The younger Shiba replied.

"Then why didn't she ask Yukino to take a look at it?" This time, Mitsuya asks the question that bugged both Kazutora and Ayase's minds even from earlier.

"What do you mean injured? She looked fine to me. She even walked to take photos of the cave."

At this point, everyone's eyes are directed to Pah's fiancée who just spoke.

"What did you say?" The golden-eyed man asked as he frantically stood from his seat, with a huge frown.

"Kaori left to take photos of the cave. I think she went to that direction." The woman as she pointed to the cave's direction.

"The other tour guide said that a cave and a river is found inside where some of them go to do some fishing." she added.

"Oh I think Yukino-chan also went to that direction earli--" Without letting Hinata finish her sentence, Kazutora sprinted to the direction she pointed. The others called out to him but he had been feeling weird since earlier. His intuition better be wrong this time.
