Chapter 68: Her Recollections

"Well then, Takemitchy. We'll be going on ahead."

"Inupi, you watch over Yukino and Takemichi, okay? This guy may fall asleep before you know it."

"Chifuyu! Why must you say that?"

"What? I'm just saying the truth."

"Yeah, Yeah~ I'll watch over Yukino-san and Takemichi. Your girlfriend is waiting for you. Just go already."

It's 7 o'clock in the evening and four men are now in the hospital's exit. For two weeks now, they have been following their respective schedule in keeping watch of a certain brunette who has been asleep and confined. Every day and night, two of them stays in the hospital, keeping guard of any impending danger that may come on the defenseless woman who was almost at the heaven's door. It is Draken's idea upon learning of the apparent involvement of Bonten in their friend doctor's life. Though bothered by tons of questions, all they can do presently is wait for her wake. They cannot bother Keisuke Baji's mother, Ryoko Baji, since they are still awkward with her.

But the most impatient among Toman, is none other than Chifuyu and Kazutora. If not for the pet shop and university responsibilities, the two would be ready to live in the hospital premises. Instead, they are on duty during weekends. It is safe to say that Chifuyu and Hakkai's shift just ended this moment. Tonight, it is the tandem of Seishu Inui and Takemichi Hanagaki to stand guard.

"Let's go, Chifuyu." A certain dark-haired man turns to the youngest Shiba who just spoke. They are heading outside now but Chifuyu had to turn around, silently wishing that his shift would extend. But no, his energy has already been depleted for being around the premises for two days now.

"Yeah." He shortly responds and exits the hospital together.

"Don't worry so much, dude. She's gonna be fine." He feels the taller man's arm around his neck as he said that.

"I know. I just want to be by her side as soon as she wakes up." A pair of blue eyes looks at his friend intently. He knows how worried he is because the man literally don't have much sleep ever since Yukino's questionable incident. But what can they do? She received damage more than she can handle.

"She'll wake up soon. Who knows? Maybe she'll be awake tonight or tomorrow." The young Shiba assured his friend, or at least he tried to.

"Thanks, Hakkai. I sure do hope so." was all the man with an undercut replied.

Meanwhile in the hospital at around 12 o'clock in the midnight...

"Why don't you go get some rest, Hanagaki? I'll wake you up when I want to rest, too." Inui says as he gently put a small blanket on the sleepy curly-haired man who is seated on a sofa across the sleeping patient. Right now, Yukino is already in a private room after being in the ICU for five days since her condition is starting to stabilize. However, she still has a respirator to help stabilize her breathing further. Her fever is gone, and the cuts on her face has started to heal. Though her foot is still bandaged, the boys were assured that she will eventually get well and wake up.

"Inupi-kun. Sorry I dozed off." The dark-haired male replies before yawning.

"It's fine. Go get some sleep. I'll wake up at 2 o'clock to change up. Will that be good?"

"Alright. I'll gladly accept since I feel really sleepy."

The kind Inui only nodded with a small smile to the blue-eyed man who just relaxed himself on the sofa and dozed off again.
