Chapter 39: Tamed

"He's really so handsome!"

"Isn't he? Everyone in the school is talking about him. He's really kind and friendly, too. He talked to me yesterday."

"What did you say? You're so lucky!"

"I wanna see him so badly. Why won't they open yet?"

Yukino couldn't say nor do anything in front of the pet shop where her two best friends work in because several young girls are swooning over its entrance. She is there right at that moment to give a certain a long-haired man a surprise.

"You girls are here again. Don't you have anything better to do on a Saturday?"

All eyes were turned to a certain husky voice who just spoke from behind them. There stood a tall frame with an undercut.

"Ah Matsuno-kun! We just want to see Hanemiya-kun. Is he inside? Why isn't he coming out?" One of the girls asked while pouting.

"He's cleaning the dog's den. If he comes out now, he would probably stink bad. Besides, our shop opens at 10 o'clock." As the man answered, their shoulders suddenly dropped. They were too eager to meet a certain golden-eyed man.

"Why don't you girls go home for now?" The man added and they all started to walk away.

"This is a surprise. Hello, Yukino." The man stated to the woman who has been quiet behind the girls from earlier.

"Hi, I hope I'm not disturbing you, Chifuyu."

"Of course, not. Come on in." The man offered which she gladly accepted.

"You didn't text me that you'll be coming." The green-eyed man asked as soon as they entered the shop and then offered her a seat.

Before she could reply, an excited black cat came running towards the lady and hopped onto her lap.

"Peke J, wha— get down from there!" The owner said and walked quickly to grab the cat but it purred, and made itself comfortable with its eyes closed with her company.

"It's fine." The brunette commented and started petting the cat's head. Chifuyu could only look Yukino and his cat with a slight smile.

"Peke J is still so fond of you."

"Woof!!"

The two were interrupted when they heard barking from a certain room, and there came a brown labrador running towards their direction. Most specifically, it is running towards a certain doctor.

Yukino inwardly panicked when she saw the dog sprinting to jump on her when suddenly, a tall frame ran and caught the dog.

"You sure like to give me a hard time, Mir—Yukino, what are you doing here?" A tall man who is drenched in sweat and a little bit of dirt came into view while holding the dog.

"I...uh...want to personally congratulate you." She said while looking at the man and the dog alternatingly. This made the dog bark to her direction again. It looked at her angrily, making her stand behind Chifuyu.

"Seems like it doesn't like me."

"Mira? Nah, she hates all the women visitors in the shop. She only listens to Kazutora. I guess dogs also have a crush on him just like those girls earlier." The green-eyed man replied and then helped tame the dog.

"Girls earlier? You mean they swarmed the shop again?" The long-haired man replied while putting the leash around the dog's neck that Chifuyu gave him.

"That's right. By the way, what do you mean 'congratulate Kazutora'? Is there something I do not know?" This made the golden-eyed man and gray-eyed doctor to look at each other. Right then and there, she realized that she said something she shouldn't have.
