Chapter 94: The Baby Goes to the Safari

"Take us to the Safari, Doctor."

Yes, he said this. But he is the one driving anyway.

"Look at that, Nozomi-chan. That's a motorcycle." His pair of emeralds turn to the woman in the passenger's seat. On her lap is the baby, dressed cutely by her. As the baby hears this, she tries to imitate her by baby talking.

"Geez, why are you so cute~" He sees the way the brunette rubbed her own cheek to the baby's which made her cackle. He grins to himself and looks at the road again to hide it. Never had he thought that he would see the same woman who had cursed his existence before, finally warming back to him. But this time, there are no more secrets that may take her away again.

"Her clothes are so cute. Did you buy them for her, Sanzu-kun?" The woman asks while combing the baby's golden locks with her fingers.

"No. The Haitanis did. Most of her clothes in her closet were from them. They gave them last week."

"As well as those toys in her room?"

"No. The stuff toys were from Mochi. The other toys were from Kakucho." Yukino couldn't utter a word upon hearing that. To be honest, she thought that the Bonten members were scary and cruel people. They are after all members of a deadly organization, known for their inhumane deeds and crimes. Most especially that she once saw them beating up Akito Minami with her own eyes, back in the abandoned place before. It is in her least expectations to know that they know how to care towards someone, a baby at the very least.

These thoughts were replaced by her memories with the same man inside the car with her. This man is the same as the man who tried to kill her before. She turns to the driver's direction with those thoughts. She unconsciously started to tremble upon remembering those bitter memories.

"Doctor, will you do me a favor and give her the bottle of milk?" Her thoughts were disturbed when the man spoke while they temporarily stop at a red traffic light. 

"It's inside the bag." He points to the yellow bag right beside her leg. She opened it and took a bottle out with milk.

"Here you go, Nozomi-chan." She says and the baby starts to suck from her bottle. This made the brunette smile.

"We'll be there within an hour. This would help her fall asleep so that she can enjoy the Safari." Yukino turns back at the man who is now fixated on the road, quietly.

She continued to gaze at the man who is quietly driving, with the thoughts that the man who tried to harm her; is also the same man who is driving the car for his kid to enjoy a trip to the Safari, gave his baby a bath earlier, wiped her dry, gave her a nice room and a home, and is thoughtful enough to let her fall asleep so that she could enjoy later. 

Little did she know that she has already stopped trembling...from fear of him.

Indeed, the man continues to surprise her with the new sides of him. She cannot truly distinguish whether this is his true self or not. But she knows for herself that it was something he can't just fake overnight to get her attention or anyone else's. Deep within her, she is starting to see this man in an entirely different perspective ever since he apologized to her in his sleep.

"Am I that handsome, Doctor?" She gaped when the man asked that and gave her a side eye. Maybe if he wasn't driving, he would stare back at her.

"N-No." she says and looks away. The man smiles as he continued driving, thinking how cute she seemed, denying what she just did.

"Keep watch of everything and stay within the proximity of the place."

"Yes, sir."

Sanzu, a man with enemies, ordered his ten men over the comm device. Then, he turns to the direction of the sleeping women beside him.
