"Be careful, Yukino."
A voice reverberated in the woman's ear as she sees a black-haired boy carrying her on their way to the apartment. It was like that time she sees the familiar boy give a similar warning.
"They're coming."
She was about to respond when her consciousness started to take over her and she blinks her eyes open, she sees a familiar ceiling. It's from the interior of her home. As she slowly roams her eyes around, she sees a familiar man seating beside her bed.
"Sanzu-kun...?" She utters and the man turns to her immediately with a slightly surprised expression.
"You finally decided to wake up. I was getting bored and was about to sell your organs to an illegal syndicate." The man joked with a small smirk.
She tries her best to take her seat.
"What happened?" she asks while brushing off the man's typical joke.
"Why don't you drink some water first?" He straightly said and poured a glass of water from her bedside table. She cannot help but notice from her window that night-time is starting to take over again.
"How long have I been asleep, Sanzu-kun?" she asks again.
"Drink this first." The man answered and offered the glass to her.
"You are mine, Doctor Yukino Miyazaki. Only mine."
She literally choked on the water upon remembering those words and a bitter memory that came rushing to her head. Upon arriving in the clinic, she was hit by an overwhelming headache and dizziness, It felt like her head would split in half and the world is spinning.
"We...We were talking on the phone and..." she stuttered and then barely remembered the way everything turned black when she saw a dark figure walking towards her from the clinic's back door and muttered the last words she remembers.
"Calm down, Doctor. Nothing happened." The man exclaimed but memories continued to occupy her whole consciousness. She remembers the way someone carried her upstairs and into her room.
"S-Someone...carried me...here. But I can't...remember what happened next." She says while looking directly at the man in front of him.
Honestly, the emerald-eyed man was silently grateful that she doesn't remember a thing after. Because she would be traumatized.
"Like I said, nothing happened. I got here just in time before the worst-case scenario." He calmly exclaimed. Her gray melancholic eyes tell him that she needs further convincing.
"He...didn't touch me?" She asks with a glint of sadness in her eyes. The man took a deep breath before saying anything. He immediately remembered her state when he arrived that night. If he was a few minutes late, what would have that piece of garbage done to her defenseless self?
"No. Believe me." As soon as he said that, he finally sees her sigh of relief. He doesn't exactly explain why but that kind of hit him differently. The thought of her, believing in his words of assurance, hits him hard.
"Sanzu-kun, I don't even know how to thank you for saving me. Thank you."
As soon as a pair of gray orbs looked directly at his, he kind of got speechless. Never in his wildest dreams that someone would thank him for saving their life. It's because what he does best, is the exact opposite of what she thanked him for.
"I wouldn't know what would have happened to me if you had not arrived on time."
She added and then smiled lightly.
