Chapter 18: Tokyo Manji Gang

"...tora-kun? Kazutora-kun!" Amber eyes starts to flicker open when he feels someone shaking his shoulders. When he opened his eyes, he saw gray eyes looking down on him with so much worry.

He remembered that he fell asleep on the opposite sofa after finishing the corn soup that Yukino prepared for him.

He looked at her who was tearing up while looking at him.

"What's wrong?" The man said as his hand reached for the woman's face.

"I got worried because you were crying in your sleep." He was crying. He touched his cheek. It is really wet and drenched in tears. That's right, it's because he met someone who died years ago in his sleep.

He gently took his seat and brushed his hair aside.

"Are you alright? Did you have a bad dream?" the doctor asked. He turned to her direction, studying her face first and smiled warmly.

"No, it was rather a happy dream." Confusion washed over the woman's pretty face. He couldn't help but admire her silently. He had been doing so, for years now. Such a woman swept their feet off; Baji, Chifuyu and him.

He giggled and patted her head.

"Let's have our breakfast, Yukino, and meet with the guys."

That's right, today is Toman's outing. The sun is peeking out after the heavy storm. The power is back. The burden on Kazutora is finally dissipating after his talk with his best friend. It's going to be a wonderful day. It's a day that he would surely enjoy with Yukino and others.

"How many times must I say it, Doctor Miyazaki? I said it's okay. Did you seriously wake me up in the crack of dawn for this? I slept at 5 AM. You hear me?! 5 AM!" The voice on the other line said with a hint of annoyance. Yukino Miyazaki literally had to put her phone away from her ears when Kaname Souma raised and deepened his voice. It's currently 5:45 in the morning, they are in the airport waiting for all the members of the gang to gather. She and Kazutora just arrived, thus, she decided to confirm from her boss's son if it's really okay to file a 3-day leave to have fun with her friends.

"I'm sorry, Doctor Souma. I'm just worried that Sir Souma wouldn't allow it since I don't have a valid reason. Besides, I couldn't call you last night because of the heavy weather. So I apologize if I disturbed your rest." The brunette is a few steps away from Kazutora and a few others who made it there early.

"I already asked him and he said it's fine. He only said to study for your upcoming assessment while you have fun. He's aware that you don't skip work often, he said not to overwork yourself." Even with such kind words, the blonde's voice is still mixed with irritation. Since he works during nighttime in the hospital, he's still tired and sleep deprived. The female doctor is aware of that but still decided to disturb her friend since it's an important matter.

"Alright. Please tell him that he will always have my gratitude. Thank you, Souma-kun." She said as sweet and genuine as she can. She's beyond grateful to the Souma Family who has been kind to her ever since high school and college. They have always helped her reach her dreams.

"Yeah, whatever, dumbass. You have fun and bring me some souvenirs." She smiled lightly when she heard the man's gentle voice.

"I will. Take care. Bye." She put down the phone as soon as the other line ended the call. She walked back to the boys' direction with a slight smile.

"I told you that he's fine with it. You just insisted otherwise." The golden-eyed boy spoke as soon as she came back.

"I just had to make sure. Besides, I'm just hesitant since my reason isn't valid enough." she said shyly which made the female Shiba react.
