Chapter 28: Open Feelings

"Where do you think you're going?"

Right before Kazutora could open the door, he sees Chifuyu standing at the other side of the hallway.

"Chifuyu...I just want to check on Yuk---"

"No need. She's still asleep, Kaori's watching her." Once again, the pet shop assistant is once again triggered with his boss. First, he cut him off. Second, he got worried about the doctor being alone with Kaori, whom he finds suspicious.

But he decides to restrain himself. After all, they are friends and co-workers at the same time.

"Look, dude. I know that you're angry that I wasn't with her when it happened but--"

"Anger is an understatement, Kazutora. I'm beyond disappointed. Not only you left her side when I asked you to take care of her, she also ALMOST died because you failed to do so." At this point, something in Kazutora is enraged. The green-eyed man sees that.

"What? Did I hit a bull's eye just now?" He added, making his friend's eyes darken.

"You know what? I don't understand why you're blaming me when your girlfriend is more suspicious." With the long-haired man's remark, Chifuyu only frowned his forehead, finding what he just heard ridiculous.

"Now what bullshit are you spouting?!"

"You didn't notice, dumbass?! Your girlfriend lied to you this afternoon when she said she injured her God knows what! Did you know that when you left, she went to the cave right before Yukino went there?" This time, the man raised his voice making Chifuyu gape in anger.

"Are you hearing yourself right now, you fucking asshole?"

"Oh, I sure fucking am! Use your head, Chifuyu! How do you think Yukino fell into the river when she herself is scared of it?" Kazutora's deep husky voice resounded in the second floor.

"What? Are you trying to say that Kaori has something to do with what happened? Are you stupid?! She's Yukino's friend for fuck sak--" Chifuyu was cut off when his friend stomped his feet towards him and pointed his finger to his face.

"And your girlfriend! She is your girlfriend! For years, Kaori knows how you feel about HER friend. How do you think that would make her feel?" Kazutora continued to fume with rage as he said all that.

"Keep those fingers to yourself, you shithead!" The man with green eyes shouted on the top of his lungs as he punched his assistant on his face which made the man fell to the floor with a cut on his lips.

"I will not tolerate you badmouthing and accusing Kaori like that and I sure hell am NEVER going tolerate you hitting on Yukino!" He shouted some more and tackled Kazutora who is still coming to his senses after taking a punch on his face.

"Get the hell away from me, you jackass! I'm not hitting on Yukino! She's--" Before the amber-eyed man could continue, he received another hit from the man with the undercut.

"Baji-san died because of you!" What Chifuyu just said hit a nerve in Kazutora, enough for him to let the guy hit his face again.

"Did you seriously think I would let someone like you BE with Yukino who meant so much for Baji-san?! No! I'll never accept you!!" He shouted again, landing a hit on Kazutora again. This time, the left side of his eyes and cheek started to bleed.

Kazutora contemplated hard...whether to believe in Chifuyu's words or not.
