Dezarae's POV
I sat in the back of the black limo looking out from behind tinted glass windows at the bright city lights. How disgusting these humans were running around pretending they know all. I snorted and lifted the crystal champagne glass up to my lips tipping it back and drinking the fine champagne like a jello shot. Paladin snorted and shook his head at me tossing his soft auburn hair around his round tan face. I glared at him shooting daggers from my eyes, he had far to much of an ego for my liking.
“People wonder how you remain single” He laughed catching my questioning glare.
I tossed the glass at him making him flinch as it hit the window behind his head shattering into a million clear pieces and landing among the dark ruby red carpet. I crossed my legs and stretched back looking back out the window.
“You, Paladin do not fully comprehend” I hissed at him.
“Comprehend? You, nobody ever could or dream of it My dear lovely Dezarae” He said bowing over to me.
I brought my foot up kicking him in the face tossing him backwards into his leather seat, I watched him with mild amusement as blood began to drip feverishly from his nose. His dark black small eyes watched me with a loathsome glare. He smiled allowing the blood to drip down his face and run along his lips into his own mouth. I tossed my head back and cackled, nodding my head vigorously.
“Yes, Paladin. You know well how to earn favour” I sighed looking back out at our jungle, our forest abode.
The tall glass and steel trees towering high above the dark angery swelling clouds, how tremendously they billowed on the dead wind. Hovering ominously over our forest. I tapped my bottom lip with my nail thinking over when everything changed. When we were forced to our knees.
“Wont you tell me again the Story of the Forest?” he asked his tone soft and sweet.
I looked back over at him heaving a heavy sigh, running my fingers through my thick black hair pushing back off my face. The black gloves on my hands were making them sweat, but removing them would cause panic and hysteria.
“Why so sweet Paladin? You know I hate sweet, unless its candy-”
“Yes you love candy, I thought I might try a different approach instead and try and win your favour. In exchange for a story”
“Your attempt is in vain Paladin, you have succeeded at nothing but making me sick with your sweet kind tone.” I hissed leaning forward uncrossing my legs.
My heavy steel plated custom made chuck taylors crunched the glass shards that’s at on the carpet. I watched as Paladin swallowed hard, the Adams apple in his throat moving just under the skin. I smirked and leaned forward dragging my one gloved finger down over his smooth tan complexion. What a truly beautiful specimen. Just like the other Paladins before him. I grew weary of them quickly, my attention only holding for a month at most. But him, I liked him a lot.
“Do you understand why they called me the Black Recluse?” I asked him gently sliding both my hands up along the sides of his strong jaw and cupping his face.
His dark beady black eyes locked with mine and he smiled at me, “As tempting and seemingly harmless to the eye, Just as the Black Widow. But as deadly and violent as the Brown Recluse. A superior hybrid of both venom's and hunting techniques” he whispered his eyes flashing down to my lips.
I smirked at him my lip quirking to the right, I nodded my head leaning closer. I could smell his heartbeat stuttering as I moved closer to him, Black Recluse Dez, I was the smallest, I was the fastest, I was the deadliest. Yet Nyoka Vypir, and her stupid lackey still held title for the deadliest and Hunters Right hand. It was only because I had been handed the duty of this Skin Trade and the Black market dealings that she remained there. Without a doubt if I was able to use my powers with success then I would take status higher than Hunter. That stupid brat. I pushed Paladins face away leaning back in my seat crossing my arms over my chest.
