Strykers POV

I lunged forward as I had over a hundred times today slamming my fist into the heavy bag watching it rock back and forth causing the chain to whip around weakly. Anger and fire burning in my chest as my mind relayed the night and the morning after, I had heard most one night stands never ended well but that had been painful. And I hadn’t even been aware it would end up a one night stand.

Webb was on the bench press glancing at me every so often, I had noticed either Fate or Webb was shadowing me since I left the room in a rage. I was guessing that Fate was with her again comforting her, like he always did. I turned away from the bag pressing my fists to the brick wall. The gym door slammed open and I spun to glare down at Fate who stood wheezing in the doorway.

“Helios, got a call. Hell Hounds and Red Huntsmen, spotted in this import and export building.”

I was in front of him instantly, “Then what are we waiting for?” I snapped at him.

“Red said we shouldn’t go” He said looking up at me defiantly.

“And we’re trusting the Mafia girl?” I snarled my shoulders bunching.

“So she did tell you. That’s how you reacted?” He asked.

“You knew!” I shouted.

Webb walked up behind me placing his hand on my shoulder and nodding his head, “We both knew, Stryker we didn’t tell you because we were worried you would react like this” He sighed.

“She’s helping them!”

Fate tackled me and my breath rushed from my lungs, pain flared through my jaw and suddenly I was not only on my back but now staring across the mat. I slowly turned to look up at Fate his fist still bunched and his brown eyes flaring with rage.

“She’s helping us you self centered Bastard! That’s all she’s ever tried to do” He shouted at me through his clamped teeth.

“Fate?”

He closed his eyes and turned his face away for a heartbeat before turning his ember gaze back to me.

“You made her cry, she finally answered your goddamned question and you made her cry. She explained why she is the way she is, and you threw it back at her. Maybe you deserve to be alone” He snarled pushing to his feet, “We’ll go but I’m saying we should listen to Red and stay out of this one” He grumbled walking away.

I laid on the ground in utter shock at what had just happened. I had never seen Fate so angry, I didn’t even know he was strong enough to push me let alone tackle me to the ground and hit me like that. Webb stood coldly to the side watching with passive eyes.

“I’ll go and get the car ready” He said after a long silence

I sat up stiffly and stared down at the mat, ‘Maybe you deserve to be alone’ My hands clenched and I shut my eyes tightly. I stood up and stormed out of the room, ‘You made her cry!’ I paused in the hallway, I made her cry. I looked down the hallway to my left towards the door into the War room. I didn’t mean to make her cry, I didn’t… I was angry with her, she had lied to me about the Mafia’s. I thought she was somebody I could trust and she was in love with Hunter.

I paused, was that why I had snapped at her the way I had. I had been upset she had admitted she had and still obviously had feelings for Hunter, if she didn’t then she wouldn’t be fighting on our side this strongly. She wanted to hurt him like he hurt her. She had answered the question why she was here, how she got here. I was just so angry, about everything. Hearing such harsh words from her the morning right after such an extraordinary night. It hurt to have this feeling of being rejected in my chest.
