Stryker's POV
I lunged at Webb tackling him to the floor, the anger flaming in my veins boiling just under my skin. My vision had misted over red; I knew he felt the same. We were both pissed as hell, Fate hadn’t checked in, we couldn’t reach him, couldn’t track him, and Helios only said that we didn’t have any faith in the guy. I gritted my teeth cursing under my breath as Webb flipped me up over his shoulder slapping me to the mat. I wrapped my legs around his arm and twisted rolling onto my stomach forcing him to the ground.
Sweat rolled from my forehead and covered my skin, Webb cursed me quietly and grabbed my ankle pushing to his feet quickly spinning around and tossing me with ease to the other end of the wrestling mat. I rolled to a stop pushing up onto my feet before he had time to lunge at me again. We stood facing each other our shoulders heaving in effort to breath, he used the back of his hand to wipe sweat off his forehead before gritting his teeth and stepping forward.
I couldn’t get my head wrapped around what had compelled Helios to suddenly send us in separately. I had thought the whole reason he had put this group together was so we didn’t have to work alone. I wanted so badly to blame Wulf for this but she wasn’t at fault, Helios was making these decisions. Webb and I both paused at the sound of glass shattering out in the hallway, we looked at each other paused in the middle of a struggle to pin one another.
It probably looked like a bad game of twister on pause.
Nothing followed the small shatter so I shrugged it off and kicked Webb’s feet out form under him dropping down on top of him, pressing my knee to his chest sliding up against his throat. He smacked the mat three times and I moved off of him, I stood up letting out a heavy breath before extending a hand to him. He smiled and grabbed my hand pulling him up.
“That was one hell of a match” Webb huffed running his hand through his long brown hair.
I smirked at him nodding my head, “Yeah, kicked your ass how many times?” I laughed at him.
“Help-” it was a strangled cry, the pain was heavy and made me cringe.
Webb and I both turned to look towards the double doors that lead into the training room; the glass windows that looked out into the hallway were empty. I looked over at Webb and strained to listen for anything else.
“Stryker…Webb, please help” The voice was louder this time.
I felt my body freeze, “Red… Red!” I shouted running towards the open doors.
Webb was at my heels, I grabbed the door frame spinning out into the hallway looking down the hallway at two bodies. The blood was smeared all down the walls, I could identify the one body as Fate. The blood wasn’t as thick on his body, Webb ran past me and it took me a moment to follow. He slid to his knee’s lifting Fate off of the smaller person who was heavily wounded and still bleeding. I dropped to my knees and lifted her up her matted hair was still wet. The blood, my god there was too much blood. Her eyes slowly open and she choked as if something was caught in her throat, I looked up at Webb and Fate. He was still unconscious; his breath was shallow and quick.
“Ny-Nyoka. He’s been… poisoned” Red whispered holding something up to Webb.
He looked from her to me, I nodded and he held his hand out to her. Her fingers uncurled painfully and a vile filled with a thin black liquid dropped into Webb’s hand. I frowned down at her where the hell did she get that.
“Red, have you been poisoned as well?” Webb asked his hand tightening on the vile.
“I’ll survive, I wasn’t built to lose. Help Fate, please” She begged him.
