CHAPTER TWO

4:00 PM
Walking along the sidewalk on the road, you were minding your own business when you happened to catch a little blonde girl playing with her friends at the park nearby.

You smiled at the sight, thinking it was adorable.

They played for a few more seconds before the blonde girl's friends parents came to pick them up. They waved 'goodbyes' to each other and as the little girl was about to turn around and walk the opposite path, she might've stepped on something and fell to the ground.

Witnessing this, you quickly rushed over to where the girl was and bent down to her level.

"Hey little girl! Are you okay?!" You asked as you watched her sit up on the ground with her hands covering her knee.

As soon as she saw you, she bursted out in tears. "It hurts!!" She cried, hissing and aching in pain.

"Is it okay if you show me where it hurts?" You asked which the girl immediately took her hands away from her knee, revealing a wound. "Do you think you can walk?"

She shook her head and said in a low cracky voice, "It hurts... I can't walk home.. It hurts so much..!"

Seeing the girl in pain, you couldn't just leave her there. "Don't cry" You said in a calming voice, gently wiping away her tears. "Hey, how about I carry you home?" You suggested, making the girl look up at you with surprise.

Now here you are, with a girl that you've never met before, on your back. Carrying her to the address that she had given you.

"It hurts..." She whined and sniffled.

"It's going to be okay, we're almost there" You said, trying your best to comfort her.

As you were walking along the path, you stumbled across a ice cream shop. You paused and stared at it before looking over your shoulder with a fond smile. "Do you want ice cream?" You asked.

She looked at you with teary eyes, "R-really.?"

"Yep! My treat!"

The little girl smiled joyfully as she ate her ice cream happily. You too, were happy knowing you just cheered her up.

"It's good isn't it?" You asked which she replied with a nod.

"Mhm! It's really good! Thank you miss!" She then grinned at you and you couldn't help but smile.

"You can just call me (Y/n)" You chuckled and gently patted her on the head, waiting for her to finish her ice cream before you continued carrying her to her house.

The sun was almost setting down. You finally reached your destination and when you looked over your shoulder, about to tell the girl that you two have arrived and realized she was asleep.

You tightened your jaw as you saw her chubby little cheeks against your shoulder. 'So cute!' You fought the urge to squish it.

Knocking on the door, you waited for an answer and after a few seconds, someone finally opened it.

A tall black haired guy stood in front of you, after scanning him up and down, you recognized him!

"Emma!" He said then took a step forward with his hands spread opened so you gently handed the sleeping girl to him. He cradled her in his arms then turned to you.

You smiled fondly at him, "I didn't know this was your house... Do you know her?" You asked and he responded.

"Yeah, she's my younger sister, did something happen to her?" He asked with worries in his face.

"Kinda... I just happened to be there when she fell at the park not so far from here" You said which made him even more worried.

"She didn't fall too hard did she?" He asked, looking down at the wound on his sister's knee.

"It was nothing serious but you might need to disinfect it and patch it up just incase"

"I hope she didn't cause you any trouble"

"No, don't worry! She was a really good kid while on the way here. I treated her with some ice cream to cheer her up, I hope that's okay" You gave him a smile then excused yourself, "Well I'm gonna be off now, it was nice meeting you-"

"Wait" He called out for you, making you stop and turn to him with confusion. "(Y/n), isn't it?" He asked.

You smiled one last time to him and nodded, "Mhm!"

"Thank you for bringing my sister back home safe,
(Y/n)"
