CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Standing inside the house in front of the front door, you watched Shinichiro put on his boots.

"I'll get going now" Shinichiro said as he looked over his shoulder but then noticed the blank stare on your face.

He got up from his spot and halted in front of you. Gently caressing your cheeks as he tilted your head up to him.

"I'm going to be alright, don't worry too much" He said, trying his best to reassure you.

Exhaling deeply, you gazed up into his eyes. "Come back home safely, okay?" You said and he smiled then gave you a quick peck on the lips.

"I have to go now so I'll probably be back around midnight" He exclaimed as he began to jog away to his motorbike.

He started his bike and drove off.

When he was almost out of sight, you tightened your jaw and shouted from the top of your lungs.

"GOOD LUCK!!" You shouted as loud as you could and looked up to the Shinichiro's direction.

He was going further and further away.

You let out a sigh and was about to retreat back into the house but then stopped when a loud roar echoed in the sky. That was the sound of Shinichiro's bike.

A smile suddenly formed past your lips as you glanced one last time at the direction that he went to.

"Meow"

A small 'meow' interrupted you, making you avert your attention to the little white creature below your feet.

Tofu looked up to you and meowed once more.

"Oh Tofu, why are you out here?" You asked, bending your upper half down and picking her up. "Are you hungry? It's almost time for dinner after-all"

Tofu let out a long 'meow' making you assume that she said 'yes'.

"Well then let's go inside! I'll get you something to eat" You said while walking back into the house with tofu.

Stepping inside the kitchen, you were immediately greeted by a pleasant smell.

"Oh why hello!" Mrs. Sano greeted you after noticing your presence.

"Hi ma'am! What are you making?" You asked as you walked to the cabinet next to her.

"Hamburger steak" She responded.

"It smells really good!" You stated and took one wet treat then ripped the top of it.

You crouched down to the floor and squeezed a bit of the wet food out and Tofu began licking it.

"Would you like extra sauce, (Y/n) sweetheart?" She asked as she put your hamburger steak on a plate.

"Yes please and thank you!"

When Mrs. Sano was done, you went to call grandpa, Mikey and Emma for dinner.

After dinner you, you tried to distract yourself by doing housework, playing with the kids and Tofu but even so, you still couldn't stop thinking about Shinichiro.

It was already 12:20 PM and there was still no sign of him. You were worried sick.

You've just put the two kids to bed. Basically, everyone in the house was asleep except you.
