CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

6:00 AM
Slowly opening his eyes, Mikey was awoken by the sounds of plates and pans from the kitchen.

He sat up on his bed with his hair all over the place with confusion. 'What's mom doing up so early?' He thought to himself as he got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen.

He popped his head into the kitchen and was surprised to see you?

"Oh Mikey you're awake" You noticed his presence as you put down the plate on the table. Grinning at him, you sat down between Emma and grandpa then gestured for him to grab a seat. "Come have breakfast, I made your favorite"

He took a seat next to his mother and looked down at his plate. You made omurice today, you even added a flag on the egg just like the one's at the restaurant.

It was somewhat... Strange.

Just a few days ago you refused to get out of your bedroom but today, here you are, eating at the table with everyone else.

"Oh and Mikey, I called Baji over" You mentioned. "He should be here in like 10 minutes"

"Huh? Why is he coming here?" Mikey asked but you didn't say anything and just kept shoving rice into your mouth.

After he was finished with his plate you told him to get dressed.

He later came out of his room and saw you sitting on the couch in the living room with your legs crossed and your chin resting on the palm of your hand while Baji was sitting at the opposite side with a nervous look on his face.

"(Y/n)-san, I'm done" Mikey said and grabbed your attention.

"There you are" You smiled as you stood up from your place, Baji also standing up right after you.

You turned to Baji then patted him on the head and gave him a small smile. "You two have fun okay?"

He nodded his head, still unable to talk or even look at you after that.

"C'mon Mikey the others are waiting" He quickly ushered Mikey to hurry as he headed out first.

Mikey followed him and in the corner of his eye, he glanced at you and realized how dull your eyes were.

There wasn't a shine in it like before anymore. I guess he never really noticed it since he barely got to see you out of your room.

He put on his shoes then went outside and climbed onto Baji's motorbike.

Driving through the bright city, Mikey looked around, just watching other vehicles past by.

"Hey Mikey" Baji said his name grabbing his attention. "Do you think (Y/n)-san... Hates me..?"

"No? She could never hate you" Mikey answered.
