CHAPTER ELEVEN

6:46 AM
Slowly opening your eyes, you rubbed your eyes with the back of your hands and then turned your head to the side.

You were surprised to see Shinichiro beside you, just sleeping peacefully.

Scanning his face up and down, you noticed how his hair was flat and not styled weirdly like how he always does it. Well, his hair was probably like this as well last night but you were too tired to even see it.

But honestly, he looked quite attractive with his hair down.

You reached your hand out to him and took a small piece of his hair. It was... Soft.

You were so distracted by his hair that you didn't even realize he had woken up.

"Huh..? (Y/n)?" He looked at you with half lidded eyes. "What are you doing?" He asked while looking at you with confusion.

You raised your brows and removed your hand away from his hand. "Haha sorry... Your hair just looked so soft, I couldn't help it" You chuckled softly, quite embarrassed that you got caught.

"Flat hair really suits you, y'know?" You stated.

"Huh really?"

"Yeah! You look very handsome with your natural flat hair!"

Caught off guard by your compliment, his face began to heat up while his ears turned red. "You really... Think so?"

"Mhm!"

"Eww! (Y/n)-san and Shinichiro are flirting!"

A voice appeared out of nowhere, startling the both of you.

You turned around and found Emma and Mikey laying on their stomachs on the mattress while facing to your direction.

"Eh?! How long have you guys been there?!" Shinichiro asked.

"Since last night! Me and Mikey were gonna go sleep with (Y/n)-san in the guest room but found her here with you" Emma explained.

"I feel bad for (Y/n)-san, she had to suffer with your loud pig snores" Mikey said.

"Oh shush Mikey!"

The two brothers kept on bickering with each other. You watched and laughed at them then after a few minutes you stood up from your spot.

"Okay that's enough! Let's get ready for school" You said.

You brushed and styled Emma's hair as she played with her animal plushies. When you were done, you complimented her. "Now don't you look gorgeous!"

"You're so good at styling hair (Y/n)-san!" She beamed as she twirled around in front of the mirror with pure joy.

"I'm happy you like it! But c'mon now let's go, I'm gonna make breakfast" You held her hand and walked her to the kitchen.

You put on an apron and opened the fridge then after scanning the ingredients, you figured out what to make and took them out.

You were cooking when grandpa Sano walked in.

"Goodmorning Emma" He patted her on the head as he walked past her then went to his seat. "Goodmorning (Y/n)" He greeted you.

"Goodmorning sir" You greeted him back and after a few minutes you turned off the stove and started plating the food. "Shin! Mikey!! Breakfast is ready!" You called out to the two brothers.

7:50 AM
"Bye grandpa! We'll be leaving now!" Shinichiro called out for his grandpa then closed the front door and left the house with you, Mikey and Emma.

You walked along the path with the three while Emma was between you and Shinichiro, holding his right hand and held your left hand and Mikey just sleeping on Shinichiro's back.

You dropped Emma off at her school first.

"Goodbye Emma! We'll come to pick you up after school" You said, hugging her tightly then watched as she happily jogged her way into the kindergarten then you and Shinichiro continued walking to Mikey's elementary school.

After dropping both the kids off, you and Shinichiro followed the path to your school.

As you two were walking, Shinichiro remembered something. "Oh (Y/n)! I almost forgot to tell you" He started, making you turn to him with a brow raised. "I have a meeting with the black dragons right after school ends so do you mind picking Emma up from kindergarten and going home alone?" He asked for a favor from you.

You nodded without hesitation. "Of course! I don't mind" You said and he smiled at you.

The two of you went to school like normal and just like he said, right after the last period ended he left his goodbyes to you and went to a different direction from you to go to his gang meeting.

You walked to Emma's kindergarten to pick her up and when you arrived, Emma was already outside waiting for you.

When she noticed your presence, her face brightened up and she immediately sprinted to you with her arms spread wide open.

You crouched down to her level and spread your arms as well, and hugged her tightly.

"How was school?" You asked as you backed away a bit.

"It was amazing! Everyone and my teacher said that my hair was very pretty!" She beamed.

You gently patted her on the head, "That's great to hear!" Then you stood up and gave you her hand. "Now, shall we go pick up Mikey?"

"Mikey always walks home by himself, but sometimes he goes to hang out with his friends then come back home afterwards" She explained.

You made an 'o' with your mouth then began to bring her home.

The rest of the evening, you spent most of your time helping Emma with her homework and when Mikey returned home, you prepared dinner for them.

Even after dinner, Shinichiro hadn't returned yet.

'What's taking the meeting so long?' You thought to yourself. All you could think about was Shinichiro. You don't know why he wouldn't leave your head.

"(Y/n)-san" A voice called to you, snapping you back to reality.

You turned around and saw Mikey gripping onto your shirt with an innocent look on his face.

"Can we go to the convenience store and buy snacks? I'm hungry!" He asked.

You turned on your phone and took a glance at the screen, 10:34 PM. You didn't even noticed how fast time went by.

You sighed and turned back to Mikey, about to tell him that it was too late but when you looked at him, he gave you such an innocent look with puppy dog eyes.

"Pleaseee?" He begged again with pouting lips.

You sighed, disappointed in yourself as the two kids sitting next to you, enjoying the doriyaki that you had bought for them from the convenience store not so far away.

"Thank you (Y/n)-san!" Mikey said with food in his mouth and his cheeks just puffing out.

You couldn't say 'no' to him. especially after those puppy dog eyes.

Fondly smiling at him, you reached your hands out and pinched his chubby little cheeks. "This is the last time I'm letting you go out st night!"

He laughed joyfully while you just kept pinching his cheeks.

After messing with him for a bit, a gut feeling suddenly struck you. A bad one too.

And you were right.

Sounds of footsteps started appearing, getting louder and louder every time.

After a few minutes, a group of men in uniforms surrounded the three of you.
