CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

1:30 AM
A ring suddenly went off on Shinichiro's phone. A loud groan escaped past his lips as he tiredly reached his hand out to the table next to his bed. "Argh... Who the fuck is calling at this hour..." He cussed and glanced at the caller ID

It was the hospital again.

Immediately, he picked answered the call and was suddenly wide awake.

"Hello-"

"Please hurry back to the hospital. This is about your mother."

As soon as he got the news, he jumped out of bed and went to wake his grandfather and his younger siblings out of bed then rushed to the hospital.

When they arrived to the hall that the doctor told Shinichiro to go to, they were all surprised to see you. Just sitting on the chair in the waiting room.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?" Shinichiro asked.

You ignored his question and just flashed a small smile at him. "Have a seat, the doctor will be here soon" You signaled to them.

"(Y/n) what are you still doing here? I thought I brought you back home..?" Shinichiro kept asking questions but you didn't respond to any of them.

15 minutes had passed and you were still waiting.

"Shinichiro..." Emma called for her brother.

He looked down at the little girl hugging him and responded with a 'hm?'

"I'm scared... Is mom gonna be okay..?" She asked with a trembling voice and tears glimmering in her eyes.

He couldn't respond to her question. He was even scared himself.

He just wiped her tears away and patted her on the head. "I'm sure mom will be alright... She has to be alright..."

Another minute passed and a man dressed in a surgical gown came out of the room nearby as he took off his gloves.

"You may come in now." He said and everyone entered the room, scared to see what's waiting for them.

When they entered, there was Mrs. Sano. Sitting on the bed with a smile on her face.

"We were able to stop her life from passing. The surgery... Was a success." The doctor announced.

Shinichiro, Emma and Mikey couldn't believe what they had just heard.

Emotions started building up inside them as their eyes became stingy.

"Mom..." Shinichiro's lips trembled as he took a few steps towards his mother. "Mom!" He leaped towards her with his arms in the air, embracing her with a tight hug as his younger siblings did the same.

They all hugged her, not wanting to let her go. Tears of joy were flooded out of their eyes like waterfalls.

Suddenly, Shinichiro realized something. He turned to the doctor and asked, "W-wait doctor... But I thought we couldn't pay for the surgery..?"

The doctor took out a small notebook and flipped through the pages.

"Well it says here that someone else helped pay for it" He said.
