CHAPTER THIRTY

A year has already passed since your wedding. Shinichiro worked at a motorbike shop and less than 6 months later, he opened up his own shop called "S.S MOTOR". And as for you, you got a job as a secretary at a well known marketing company.

Mikey and Emma has grown a lot. Baji, Senju and Haruchiyo too!

Wakasa, Takeomi and Benkei would crash at you and Shinichiro's place once in a while but not as much as they used to since now they've also grown up and got busy with their lives.

Your life with Shinichiro has been great! You two spent most of your free time together, he also still takes you out on dates! Even when there's nothing to do, you both lay next to each other in silence, just enjoying one another's presence.

6:00 PM
Stacking the 7 heavy folders that has all of the documents and reports in it, you attempted to carry all of it but ended up losing balance and fell.

You stared down at the folders scattered on the floor with disappointment plastered on your face. 'I used to carry 15 books up and down the stairs when I was in high school, now I can't even carry 7 folders! I guess I'm getting old...'

"(Y/n) do you need help?" A voice suddenly appeared, making you look up and realized it was one of your co-workers, Yuki.

He crouched down on his knees and quickly stacked the folders onto each other.

A feeling of relief washed over you after since sudden appearance. You're so glad he's still here, everyone else already left.

"Yeah I do kinda need some help" You said with a small smile.

He lent you his hand and helped you stand back on your feet.

"Jeez are you actually gonna do all of these by yourself?" He asked curiously, flipping through the unfinished reports.

"Huh? Oh yeah, the boss wants me to hand them all to him tomorrow morning. I've only finished 3 of them so far-"

"DAMN TOMORROW MORNING?!" He looked at you with wide eyes.

"Well yeah..." You chuckled. "He said that he has to show all of them to the CEO"

"There's no way you could finish this alone" He said then turned to you. "How about this, I'll help you out and do 3 of these and you could just finish this last one!" He said, handing you the folder that had the least reports from all of the others.

"Yuki it's generous you'd do this for me but really it's fine!" You said but he just shook his head.

"You've done more than enough today, you deserve all the sleep that you'll be getting tonight" He grinned brightly at you which finally made you give in.

"So, is somebody gonna come pick you up now? Those folders still look a little heavy to carry"

"Yes actually, my husband is picking me up. He's waiting downstairs for me right now!"

"Well then let's hurry, don't want him to wait too long"

Scrolling on his phone, Shinichiro sat silently on his motorbike waiting for you outside of your workplace.

You were taking quite a while to come out, what's the hold up?

He changed apps on his phone and was about to message you but then heard the entrance door squeak along with sounds of laughter.

He turned around and immediately froze when he saw you exiting the building with Yuki.

"Pfft! No way she actually did that to you!" You laughed as you walked beside Yuki.

"It's hard to believe especially since she's one of our kindest workers here but trust me, she definitely poured that hot coffee all over me on purpose!"

You halted then turned to him as your laugh slowly faded away. "Anyways— Thanks for helping me Yuki, I really appreciate it!" You thanked him.

"No problem! Don't overwork yourself alright?"

You waved a goodbye to him and he began walking back to the building to go pack his bags before leaving as well.

Turning around, a wide smile formed on your face as you jogged towards Shinichiro. "Hey Shin!" You greeted him as you opened the back seat and dropped the folders in and climbed up. "Sorry it took so long-"

"Who was that?"

You paused and stared at him for a second. "Uhm he's my co-worked Yuki, why?"

His eyes were still gazing at the entrance door and for a moment there was just silence. A deep exhale came out of Shinichiro as he started his motorbike.

"Nothing. Let's go home"

Stepping out of the bathroom, you stretched your arms in the air feeling refreshed.

"That was the best shower I've had this week! I'm so glad they fixed the hot water" You exclaimed but then noticed the figure laying on the bed, facing his back to you.

It's kinda strange... He's never been this quiet before. Did something happen?

Slowly walking up to him, you climbed onto the bed and gently shook his shoulder. "Shin? What's wrong? You're awfully quiet today" You asked but no response.

"Are you mad at me?" Again, no response. "Shin if something is bothering you, you could just tell me..." You said.

A minute had past and he let out a deep sigh. He flipped over and sat up on the bed, pressing his back against the wall, facing you.

"That Yuki guy." He started.

"Yeah? What about him?"

"I want you to stop talking to him."

Your eyes slightly widened by his words. "W-what..?"

"I don't like the way he's just around you." He said in a serious tone.

The look on his face really explains his disapproval of Yuki. "But Shin he's just my-"

"Please (Y/n)?" He gazed into your eyes.

You were hesitant for a moment but then gazed down to the bed and nodded your head vertically.

"Okay." You muttered.

A slight smile formed on Shinichiro's face as he reached his hand out to you and caressed your face.

Gently rubbing your cheek with his thumb then leaned in and planted a kiss on your forehead. "Thank you" He said then pulled the blankets over the both of you. "Let's go to bed, it's getting pretty late"

You hummed a 'hm' as in agreeing with him and laid on the bed with him, closing your eyes as you tried to force yourself to sleep.
