~chapter fourteen~

Pov Haru

It was dark.

I could hear the sound of the waves breaking on the cliffs slowly fading away.

No thoughts crossed my mind, my mind just focused on the stillness within me.

I found myself now in a room.

At the end of this room was an old door, with a handle that looked quite rusted.

It seemed to call to me and I followed.

Behind me was a kind of darkness that seemed cold and overwhelming even though it lured with its horrible claws as well as the radiant warmth of the rays that seemed to flow through the door.

My heavy steps left muffled noises and I had now walked so far that I was standing directly in front of the portal.

I should have been scared or at least uncomfortable as I slowly pushed the handle down.

But it was not like that.

This door seemed to be whispering something to me.

The soft murmur beguiled my ear and lured me.

It was like a heavenly melody.

On the other hand, however, something seemed to want to hold me back.

Something that scared me.

Without further hesitation and with a lot of strength I overcame this feeling and opened the door a crack.

A light green shimmer emanated from it.

Green, the color of hope.

The hope that now made its way to me and spread in my heart.

The hope that everything would be fine if I just opened my eyes.

The sparkling got brighter and remembered of a sapphire.

"Haru Hyung, please answer me."

My eyelids trembled.

I just had to make it.

With great difficulty I opened first the first and then the second eye.

The voice was now a little clearer to understand.

"Well, Noona said I should let you know that I'm fine and..."

Now the voice got brighter and changed.

"It's Ari. Now really listen to me. What Ilwoo did wasn't ok, we both know that. But the fact that you don't pick up your cell phone at this moment doesn't make you any better either."

My eyes slowly shifted to the small screen.

The device must have slipped out of my pocket.

With a pained expression, I picked up the cell phone and interrupted the live recording of the answering machine.

"Ari...I...please come quickly."

My voice was trembling, but slowly returning.

Pov Ilwoo

"Did he pick up?"

With inquisitive eyes I eyed the person sitting opposite. Instead of a smile or a scowl, however, I saw panic in her eyes.

She got up and paced around the room nervously.

"Where are you right now? Wha-What happened?"
