~chapter forty four~

POV Haru

The first day at work after a long break.

My cheerful mood lasted until I entered the building and even there it didn't abate.

Loaded with new energy, I registered at reception and then disappeared in the direction of the stairs.

People who also worked here made their ways into their offices and boardrooms.

The volume level was in a normal range and I continued to move forward.

Walking down the long corridor hasn't felt as unreachable and exhausting as it used to in a long time.

And when I reached my office room and felt the fresh air pouring in from the large floor-to-ceiling windows, I was sure the day would be relaxed.

I quickly gathered the necessary documents and arranged the edges neatly by tapping on the table, and I left the square again in the direction of the training rooms.

I loosened the tie with one finger, which had been too tight for me the whole time and finally opening the large door.

"Listen everyone. We're taking a very short break. Think again about your steps and what position you need to be in."

The trainer gave me a quick nod of agreement, then left the small crowd behind and stomped over to me.

"I see they're making progress."

The stern look in his eyes was dealt with neutrally and with a curt yes.

"Depends on how you look at it..."

The shrill whistle echoed through the hall.

"All of you to your positions. And woe betide I see a mistake. Mr. Kim will now observe the whole thing."

The older man's hand politely pointed to a chair in the middle of the room, on which I quickly sat down with pen and pad.

I formed a sign that pointed out to begin and at the same time the music also streamed out of the loudspeakers on both sides of the mirrored wall.

The trainees had actually improved.

Smooth movements, synchronous elaboration and even the smallest mistakes were not noticed.

At least I overlooked those on purpose this time.

Only one person seemed weaker to me today than usual.

The mint-haired one.

What was his name again.

My focused eyes wandered to the attendance list.

Yejun...

However, with him occupying the back position most of the time and the coach focused on his cell phone during the performance, I let that sink in too and commended the panel for their excellent improvement in choreography.

"But even if you've improved. Remember never to let go just for a compliment. There is still room for further improvement. That was good for starters and I decided not to single any of you out. Keep it up."

I raised my fist in encouragement and received a cheer of exhaustion and relief.

POV Akita

Breathing heavily and given everything I turned to the younger one.

The old man had finally given us a break, which Yejun was only too happy to use to slide down the large mirror onto the floor.
