~chapter thirty five~

POV Haru

"Shall we watch a movie?"

I got an affirmative gesture from my boyfriend and just finished putting the last piece of dishes away.

The light in the large kitchen was switched off, the hallway entered and the path into the living room was walked.

I handed the younger one my remote control and he easily switched through the programs.

As always, the TV program was nothing and the streaming providers, which I paid almost for nothing every month because I didn't use them anyway, only had boring stuff on offer.

"Boring."

Came the small voice and flopped back on the sofa, arms outstretched on either side.

The hand with the remote control loosened and dropped it beside him.

My hand now reached for it and my search was in vain.

Then I got an idea.

Didn't I still have all the video games that Ilwoo liked on DVD, stashed away in the small closet.

I mean it's been a while since I put my hand on them, but maybe they were still there.

"Should we maybe play a video game."

I received a shrug and then a fairly neutral nod, indicating I should make a decision.

Well, if he didn't really feel like it, then I'd have to think of something else.

"Alright, let's play the one I've always lost at.  I'll prove to you that I'll win this time."

Amused by his tone of voice, I remembered how the little boy had tried so hard to defeat me and failed several times, cursing.

"Sure. We can do that you little daredevil."

My body rose and moved towards the TV.

Below it was a small drawer that could be pulled out, which at first glance only looked like decoration.

Inside were two controllers.

I set up the rest that was needed and then left the smaller one to look for the DVDs.

It was dark and I first had to grope for the light switch.

This didn't turn out to be easy as my hand felt like it was two meters off the whole time.

When the small room finally lit up, I could see some odds and ends that I should have thrown away or donated long ago.

My old computer, decorations that I never really needed, other electronics and boxes.

Then I realized what I was looking for.

A large cardboard box with the inscription little dumpling

It was on top of a wooden shelf attached to the wall and seemed to be quite dusty.

Carefully, without letting the contents endure me, I took it down and opened it.

In addition to DVDs and books, there was also the teddy bear I gifted him once and which he always carried around here when he was with me.

The little bear, named Mr. Bubbles, looked pretty worn out, his white fur was pretty shaggy and the little red bow he wore around his collar was torn at the ends.
