~chapter twenty seven~

Pov Akita

I was glad to be able to leave earlier yesterday.

Because Haru wasn't there and could check our progress, which we showed more and more in our training from day to day, we had a different examiner.

To be honest, he was so sloppy with his work that we were done within a short time, after the second round.

I really didn't think I would see him in the hospital again.

A kitchen accident he said, who believes it.

I knew Haru wasn't good at cooking and therefore he cooked rarely.

So that could definitely be ruled out. But I was ok with him not telling me the truth.

After all, a lot had happened recently since our separation and our trust in each other has probably decreased significantly.

"Hyung..."

I turned towards the familiar deep voice.  "Yejun, hey."

As always, his gaze spoke with no emotion.

I had gotten used to it and accepted the boy for who he was.

"About the message you sent me..." I nodded.

"Well, I wanted..."

The rest of his words were drowned out by the bell that signaled the end of the rest.

I covered my ears from the loud sound, irritated.

"Excuse me, what did you want to say?"

The minty haired shook his head sullenly.

"Not so important."

My gaze fell on his plate, on which a few pieces of meat and peas were still rolling around.

"Don't you want to finish eating quickly? I'll wait here with you too. I'm sure I can think of an excuse for the coach.

I received a disinterested shake of the head, which I involuntarily accepted.

"They said Ari would be assigned to a room soon as her condition has improved again. That's why I sat in that space."

Ilwoo nodded as he followed the young man to the elevator.

The blond could easily tell from the older man's look that he himself would rather be in Ari's situation.

The door closed, temporarily locking two people behind it. Haru eyed down sadly.

He should be happy now. But he wasn't.

He was afraid for the red-haired female. He put all the blame on himself.

Suddenly he felt a tender hand on his.

The sight of the slender small fingers immediately brought him back to reality.

It was Ilwoo who snuggled up to him worriedly now.

"Is Nuna that bad Hyung?"

The brown-haired dropped his head onto the blonde's.

"She still needed CPR on site. I...I was even afraid she wouldn't make it."

What followed those words was a hug, which emanated from the younger.

He knew the elder felt guilty.
