~chapter thirty~~back to time~
POV Haru
"What do you think about?"
My voice echoed a little again and tore Ilwoo out of his thoughts.
I was almost sorry at that moment, because he had previously a slight grin on his full lips and his eyes in dreams indulging half closed.
This expression disappeared now and he let his gaze wander from the TV to me and then to the things I held in my hand.
It was a fresh pajama, a toothbrush and a green tube that was still full to the brim with toothpaste.
I now trotted comfortably to him and put the things at the end of the couch before reaching for the small floor lamp that stood on the table, with one hand.
This now turned the blue shimmer on the modern wooden table into a warm dim veil.
"I only thought of the past when we both sat here and spent time together. It was nice."
His eyes wandered around dreamily with these words, as if he were imagining everything again as it used to be.
My body slowly lowered and joined him on the left side.
Like in the past.
Just with the difference that I was even happier now.
I felt his head fell down and gently cuddling into me.
"Are you cold?"
He nodded slightly.
"A little."
My arm automatically stretched out and just wanted to reach the blanket from the angular backrest when Ilwoo prevented me from doing so.
"Not." His snuggles quietly penetrated my right ear and I was confused at first.
"Why..."
"I don't want you to go."
This made me wonder.
"Why do you think I would go?"
I could hear him sniffing quietly and his little petite hands buried themselves further and further into the fabric of my dark blue pyjamas, in which I had thrown myself quickly before.
Worried, my eyebrows lifted up.
"I just don't want to lose you again."
Now he looked up and my eyes met his.
They were glassy and outwards some tears gathered, which would now probably fall the next time he blinked.
My thumb stroked the crystal clear liquid from his face soothingly.
Whereupon Ilwoo pressed his soft cheeks even closer into the palm of my hand and clinged to them from the other side.
His stuttering went into a new round.
"When I saw you lying on the cold hard stones, my heart stopped. It felt like I was taken away from the oxygen I need to breathe.
I really thought it was all over there. That I lost you without really telling you how much you mean to me and how much I love you.
The blood. There was blood everywhere...And..."
He couldn't and didn't want to say more.
But I understood.
We had both lost our mothers.
However, the death of his mother was traumatising enough for a boy his age.
