~chapter twenty six~

He did it. He had said it in front of Ilwoo. Like an idiot, he hadn't thought about it.
The older figure was still standing in the doorway and was finally beginning to move out of its rigidity.
"Son...I..."
The brown-haired let out a loud sigh and stopped his father from further words, which he felt would have hurt him even more than the words his father would normally say to him.
A flashback occurred in his head.
~years before~
He kind of always knew. It wasn't like it was there overnight.
The brown-haired boy looked sadly into his mirror.
His long bangs fell strand by strand across his face and his hands were clenched in fists.
Haru knew he was into guys. But his family would never accept that. This was a fact.
His fingernails dug nervously into his locked palm.
He was in his room at the back of him the desk, he had been sitting at just a few minutes ago, doing all his homework and extra work.
Stacks of sheets and notebooks. Task pages that were filled with characters and only had green ticks and no red crosses.
All this bustled around in the warm light of the desk lamp.
He had tried to write letters in which he tried to explain himself. But no right words seemed to have found their way onto the white surfaces that now lay in the wastebasket next to the table.
Eventually the boy decided it was time. Haru just couldn't hide from his parents any longer...He couldn't hide himself from them any longer.
It was not like coming out as someone else...It was more just like him coming out as Haru. The person he always tried to hide from everyone.
And this person now opened anxiously the door. His depression has only gotten worse lately. He stopped eating as much and his collarbone and lower jaw became more and more visible.
Also the boy himself was afraid to confide in his new friend Ilwoo because he feared losing him.
The doorknob was now pushed down by his hand like in slow motion and the young male let out a soft sigh as he heard his parents down in the large living room.
On quiet feet he trudged on the stairway until his path led him in front of the said place.
Taking a deep breath, he made himself felt. "Mother, father..." The brown-haired woman, wearing a white silk suit, turned and nodded at her son with a small smile that seemed to give him renewed strength.
He entered still hesitantly. "I...I want to tell you something..."
The dark haired man looked up listlessly from his business phone after his wife gave him a slight nudge.
"What is?" He turned his gaze directly to his son, while he adjusted himself in his black pajamas.
"I..." Haru's words seemed to get stuck in his throat, because both eyes were directed at him. And his father's seemed to angrily puncture the young at the same moment.
"Now finally talk. The work doesn't do itself." He lowered his head to the display again, annoyed.
"Please, darling. Haru wants to tell us something that seems important to him." The nice-looking female eyed pleadingly her husband.
