The sun was high in the sky and it's rays burned hot on everything it touched. In particular two girls as both laid on towels, basking in the warm weather.

Right next to them, two boys splashed around in the pool and purposefully tried to get the girls wet. "You guys are so boring." Beomgyu said as he folded his arms at the edge of the pool.

Sora peeked at him over the top of her sunglasses. "I don't like swimming." She replied, not an ounce of emotion in her voice.

"Exactly why no one likes you, my sister. But Mimi does like swimming, so stop being a loser and get in." Beomgyu retorted, smiling smugly at his sister. Sora sent him a glare but it didn't faze him at all.

"I don't think I feel like swimming today. Sorry, Gyu." Miyoung suddenly spoke up and Beomgyu groaned.

"Fine." He fell back into the water, unintentionally splashing the girls a bit.

"I'm going to kill you, Beomgyu!" Sora yelled but it fell on deaf ears. Deciding to ignore her brother right back, Sora suddenly remembered something and turned to Miyoung with a gasp. "By the way. Why did I have to find out by Haerin that you were hanging out with Soobin at the party?"

A blush crept on Miyoung's cheeks at the mention of the boy. "Oh... Yeah, Yeonjun left with you, so we just kept each other company. No big deal."

"No big deal?! This is a huge deal, Mimi." Sora argued yet Miyoung kept denying her.

"Wait, did I just hear that correctly?" Beomgyu asked out of the blue as he was right back to leaning over the edge of the pool and Taehyun swam toward them as well. "You and Soobin were together?" He asked.

"Yes... Why are you guys being so weird about this." Miyoung asked in return, shyly looking away from them as her fingers started pulling at the grass under her towel.

The twins rolled their eyes at the same time. Clearly, they both felt the same frustration. "Oh, Mimi. Don't even try to act dumb. You know exactly why this is a big deal." Beomgyu retorted.

"Right, right!" Sora supported her brother's statement. For two people who constantly fought, it seemed that the only times they were ever united was when they were making fun of the younger girl.

Miyoung let out a exasperated sigh as she fell back onto her back. "Stop it." She whined, closing her eyes.

"I've listened to you guys have the same conversation for years. Miyoung likes Soobin. Then you sit here for hours speculating on whether he likes her back or not. I think at this point Miyoung should just make a move or something to see if he does or not." Everyone looked over at Taehyun, who had only been silently observing their conversation.

"And when exactly did we ask you?" Sora spoke and Taehyun rolled his eyes.

"Hey, he's my friend. Don't be rude to him." Beomgyu defended the other and judging by Sora's face she was about to start another argument with the boy.

Luckily, Taehyun spoke up before they could even start. "Just my two cents. Do with it what you want." The boy then inhaled deeply before diving underwater again.

"Just so you know, I agree with Taehyun." Beomgyu stated before following Taehyun down.

Miyoung stared at the spot the two boys were a few seconds ago. She thought about Taehyun's advice yet it caused nothing but more confusion in her head.

She then felt a hand on her shoulder and finally averted her eyes. "You don't have to, but I think he's right. What do you exactly have to lose?" Sora said, smiling small at her.

Miyoung nodded in understanding and then stood up. "I'm going to head home now. I think my parents should be back by now." Sora understood and let the girl go.

The young girl walked down the street to her house, head clouded and conflicted. How does she even go about that? It'll be weird if she just suddenly popped up and confessed to the older boy. Plus, he was her brother's best friend. That definitely made it even more complicated for her.

Miyoung walked into her bedroom in the same daze she was while walking over here. She stared out the window, completely preoccupied with her own thoughts. That was until something caught her attention. Or more like someone.

Across from her bedroom window she could see right into another room in the house next door. But unlike the other times, she actually noticed someone sitting in the window sill this time. Now that she thought about it, she hasn't met the new neighbours at all.

It was probably weird staring at her new neighbour like this, but she was curious about who he was. The mystery boy then looked up and met her eyes. In any other case, she would've been embarrassed for getting caught but instead she pushed open her window and watched as he did the same.

"Hi." She greeted him.

The boy sheepishly smiled back at her before waving his hand. "Hi." He said back.

Miyoung's smile brightened. "I haven't seen you before. I'm Choi Miyoung."

"Huening Kai." He replied shortly.

"Nice to meet you, Kai." She spoke and watched as the boy's lips tugged upward again. She wanted to say more to the boy, but her mother suddenly called her from downstairs. "Oh, my mom's calling. I hope we can talk more another time. Bye, Kai!"

She had closed her window so fast that she didn't even catch his faint 'goodbye'. She might not know it, but she was the first person he's spoken to in this town. So, he closed his own window too, hoping that time would pass by faster in hopes of seeing her again.
