Yeseul shut off her phone after sending a message to Kai. She planned to go out with the boy today as well as Beomgyu, who had kindly invited himself along.

The girl sat on her bed, her temporary bed, scanning over the room for what felt like the hundredth time since she arrived two weeks ago. It really hasn't changed one bit since the time she called it hers over a year ago. Almost like it knew she would eventually be right back here.

Those thoughts were slowly starting to slip through again after she had tried so hard to keep them locked up in a box deep, deep inside of her head. It's not until she hears her phone going off that she managed to stop herself from wandering down that path again.

Kai was ready and waiting for her, according to his message. Unknowingly, she smiled small to herself. She hadn't even known the kid long, but he really was slowly becoming one of her favourite people.

She immediately went next door to pick him up and Kai hastily filed out of his house. He seemed excited to see her and she would be lying if she said the feeling wasn't mutual. "Hi, Yeseul!" He brightly greeted.

The older chuckled as she patted his shoulder. "Hi, Hyuka." The boy scrunched his nose up at the nickname and Yeseul had to suppress the urge to pinch his cheeks, though he was much taller than her.

They walked down to Beomgyu and Sora's house. Yeseul didn't expect for Taehyun to open the door when she knocked. "Oh, Taehyun." She was taken aback by his presence. The boy only stared at her and stood aside to let them in. Yeseul couldn't miss hearing Taehyun speak to Kai and it felt like a kick in the stomach.

"Oh, you're here!" Beomgyu's voice rang and he came running downstairs. He almost tripped when he reached the bottom. "I invited Taehyun but he was being boring and said no." Beomgyu complained and Yeseul let out a wry laugh.

"Come on, Gyu." Yeseul urged the boy to hurry up.

"Yeah, yeah. Stop being so impatient, lady." He retorted as he hopped on one foot trying to put his shoe on. "What are you doing for the rest of the day, Tae?"

Taehyun shrugged. "I'm actually on my way to Miyoung right now."

"Miyoung? Why?" Beomgyu asked.

"We have stuff to discuss, I guess."

"What kind of stuff?" Kai curiously inquired this time.

Taehyun shrugged again but no answer followed. Yeseul examined the boy. It was rather weird that he was going to be alone with Miyoung and it's entirely by choice. It did kind of hurt thinking that he'd rather speak to Miyoung than her, but she didn't let it show.

Fifteen minutes later the three were in town, walking through the busy streets. Kai and Beomgyu had done most of the talking and Yeseul only gave her input once in a while. "Yeseul," Beomgyu's voice ripped her out of her thoughts.

"Yeah?" She replied.

Beomgyu gave her a look, one that was a mixture of confusion and concern. "Are you okay? You've been really quiet?"

Yeseul chuckled. "I'm fine. Just a bit tired. Miyoung wanted to watch movies all night." Beomgyu's face still displayed that same look but once Yeseul smiled at him reassuringly, he dropped it.

"Oh! Look there!" Kai exclaimed and the older two followed his line of sight.

There was a market right in front of the pier. Since they lived in a rather small beach town, there was always an market like this each summer. It was Yeseul's favourite thing to visit. Beomgyu nudged her arm, a knowing smile on his lips.
