"Where are the streamers?"
"I think the cake is melting!"
"For the love of God, Beomgyu, put down your phone and help us!"
"Wait, what am I supposed to do?"
Yeseul groaned, her hair on the brink of falling out due to her constant pulling at it. "You people stress me out." She groaned.
"Hey, we're trying our best here." Miyoung protested as she placed the plate of snacks down on the table.
"She's just making a big deal out of this, because it's for her precious baby." Soobin teased as he walked into the living room.
Yeseul shot him a glare. "Shut up, Soobs. And you're right. It's my baby's first birthday here, I want everything to be perfect."
Miyoung and Soobin glanced at each other before snickering to themselves. Yeseul was acting like a mom. "Alright, what else do you need us to do?"
The pinkette thought about it for a second, "Oh, the paper plates and cups we bought. Those need to be brought in."
"Alright." The two said in unison, disappearing to do their tasks.
Yeseul sighed once again, her hands on her hips as she glanced around the place. Everything needed to be in place before Taehyun comes back with Kai. God, if something goes wrong today—
"We have a problem." Yeseul flinched, turning to the source of voice.
"What is it?" She asked Taehyun.
Taehyun gave her a hesitant look but nonetheless started talking. "Hyuka. He's not at home."
"Shit." She muttered under her breath.
Taehyun stared at her sympathetically. He also had no idea what their next move is supposed to be. "Well, do you think I should just call him?"
"No, what if he catches on and then the whole surprise is ruined?"
The boy rolled his eyes. "I'll keep it vague, of course. Ask if he wants to hang out and then bring him here."
Yeseul looked a bit skeptical of the idea. What if it didn't work? Or Kai already had other plans? Oh, God. She never even considered that he could have other things planned.
"I'm so stupid." The girl hit her palm against her forehead about three times before Taehyun grabbed her arm to prevent her from further hurting herself. "What if he's busy? Why didn't my dumbass think about that?"
"Hey, don't worry about that. I'm sure he'd still appreciate the thought. I mean, you planned all this for him. He'd probably thank you for the next week once he hears about it."
"You think so? You think he'd like this?" Yeseul carefully asked.
Taehyun nodded, patting her arm to comfort the older. It looked like she was about to cry from the stress. "Thank you." She whispered and Taehyun pulled her into a swift hug.
He patted the older's back as gently as possible. He wasn't quite sure whether he was doing this right, but Yeseul didn't seem to be uncomfortable or anything. So, at least he thinks he's doing okay.
The two of them stood like that for a few seconds. Just Taehyun with his arms wrapped around the pinkette and her fighting the urge to burst into tears. He hadn't noticed Miyoung walk into the room until his eyes accidentally met hers.
She watched the two of them for a moment before sending Taehyun a small smile. He looked away. He hated that he just looked away. He probably made her feel bad now. But then Yeseul pulled away once two new voices were heard. Sora and Yeonjun emerged from downstairs, laughing about something.
