With every bit of courage he managed to scrape together, he pressed his finger down on the button.

Breathe, Taehyun. He kept reminding himself over and over again. He always does this when the nerves got too much. He ended up taking a careful step back. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea?

No, you have to do this. He had to do it for himself. He's already put this off for too long.

Plus, he promised Miyoung. Which wasn't all that important, but still.

The longer he waited, the more he wanted to run away. Sure, he was acting cowardly—which was totally unlike him—but rather that than make a fool of himself. He didn't even know what he wanted to say at all.

But then the door opened, a familiar pair of eyes meeting his. He watched them widen at the sight of him at first, before quickly masking her surprise with an awkward smile. "Oh, Taehyun. Hi."

"Hi..." He replied, matching her awkward tone. This is probably the first time they've been alone in a while.

"Right, sorry. You're probably looking for Miyoung. I'll go get her—"

"Actually," He quickly cut her off, "I'm here to see you..." His hand immediately flew up to his nape as his eyes briefly flickered away from hers.

When he looked back at her again, she was still staring at him, frozen in spot. "Oh..." Yeseul managed to say. "Are you sure? Because, Miyoung is literally upstairs and—"

"Yes, I'm sure, Yeseul." He chuckled.

The girl smiled again, but this time it felt warm and sincere. "Alright... Would you like to come in then? Or?"

Taehyun thought for a moment. If he was going to do this then he couldn't do it here. They needed privacy and a lot of time to sort things out. He wanted to do it the right way. "Could we maybe go to the beach? You know, like how we used to all the time?"

Immediately, her lips twitched upwards. It was like both of them suddenly felt nostalgic of past times. Times when they were happy and close. "Of course. I'll just go get my things then we can go." Taehyun nodded and hummed in agreement.

After she left, he released a short breath he didn't even know he was holding in. That went... surprisingly well. But it was, unfortunately for him, only step one. He frowned. It felt so nice not ignoring Yeseul and talking normally.

Taehyun's eyes flickered into the house where Yeseul disappeared into. He wasn't expecting to find Miyoung sitting at the top of the stairs, staring right at him. She smiled, showing him two thumbs ups before waving at him and then getting up again.

And there it was again. The butterflies in his stomach and his heart pounding in his chest. It's been going on like this for a few days now and he didn't quite know what to make of it. It was confusing to say the least but he couldn't focus on that right now as Yeseul came back again. "Okay! I'm all set to go," Taehyun smiled at her and the two walked into the street.

For the first few minutes it was quiet. Taehyun could feel Yeseul take glances at him ever so often. He almost laughed, because Yeseul being timid was a rare occurance. "Yeseul." He finally spoke when she looked at him again.

"Yes?" She squeaked out.

Taehyun chuckled at her sudden stiffness. "It's okay to say what you want to. I won't bite your head off or anything."

"I know, it's just... I have no idea how to talk to you." The older admitted, eyes immediately falling to the sidewalk where her feet were kicking a pebble.
