Miyoung sighed contently as she walked through the exit. She had just finished a session at the gym to which she stringed Taehyun along. Surprisingly, she's been doing that a lot these days; dragging Taehyun everywhere with her. What can she say? She likes spending time with the boy. Sometimes a bit too much that it would result in Beomgyu and Sora always complaining about her never spending time with them.

"What was that one song you played earlier on? The one about attacking your heart whatever the hell they said." Taehyun asked.

Miyoung smiled brightly at his question. "Heart attack by Chuu." She proudly answered because the boy seemed to have liked the song a lot when it came on.

Taehyun nodded in acknowledgement. "Okay, cool. I don't know who that is, but it's a nice song."

"You don't know the Chuu from LOONA?!" Miyoung exclaimed causing Taehyun to flinch at her sudden raised tone.

"I— Uhm, no? Is that a bad thing?" He asked in return, quite nervous as he took a sip from his waterbottle. The two halted in the middle of the sidewalk. Miyoung narrowed her eyes at Taehyun as he only chuckled at her offended face.

"Hmm..." Miyoung stared at him for a few more seconds before walking ahead, leaving Taehyun to follow right behind her.

"Aw, come on, Miyoung. I'll search them up when I get home, if you want." Immediately, Miyoung smiled in victory but still wouldn't meet his eyes as she continued walking ahead of him. "Miyoung, don't be like that." The boy practically pleaded and it seemed Miyoung was enjoying it.

"You're off the hook this one time, but only if you pay for my smoothie."

Taehyun rolled his eyes, "You're acting like I wasn't already going to pay for our smoothies."

"Just had to make sure you don't back out last minute." She shrugged yet a smile still tugged at her lips.

The boy couldn't help but smile back. Miyoung was simply too cute to ignore. Even when the both of them look like a mess after excercising for two hours, the sight of Miyoung still caused a pull at his heartstrings. "Alright. Let's go then."

He took the opportunity to wrap an arm around her shoulders and Miyoung laughed at the gesture. "You smell." She whined.

"Shut up. Like you're any better." He retorted and again Miyoung giggled at his remark. If only she knew how fast his heart was beating right now. But then he remembered how his feelings didn't matter anyway. Miyoung's heart already belonged to someone else. The thought of her being with Soobin saddened him, but at least then she'd be happy. And Miyoung being happy made him happy. So, he removed his arm from her shoulders and when Miyoung gave him a questioning look, he only playfully stuck his tongue out at her.

Ironically enough, just as they were a few meters away from the juice and smoothie bar, a familiar tall boy came walking out. Taehyun felt Miyoung tense up next to him before she swiftly grabbed his arm and pulled his body in front of her, spinning him around to cover her. Now, Taehyun stood with Miyoung right in front of him, barely any space between them. Taehyun stood rigid, not a single breath leaving or entering his lungs.

"Shit, he can't see me." Miyoung muttered in complete panic. Taehyun only blinked down at her, motionless as Miyoung peered over his shoulder. "This is so embarrassing." She groaned. She bumped her forehead against his shoulder a few times as her grip on his biceps tightened. "He probably thinks I'm such a klutz. I mean, I am but like I don't need him knowing that. Fuck—"

Her eyes finally flickered to Taehyun's, for the first time realizing the position she put them in. "Oh..." She let out at their close proximity. Now, Taehyun has always been really goodlooking but up close? He was near perfect. She shouldn't even be thinking such things about her friend, but it was the truth. Even the way her stomach turned under his intense gaze was enough to describe just how overwhelmingly gorgeous he was.

She was slowly starting to pick up small details about him, like how his big, curious eyes always seem to sparkle even when his long bangs hung messily over them. It was such a strange feeling; Taehyun's eyes flickering between hers as they seemed to be cocooned in their own little bubble.

It felt almost wrong and she didn't understand why. Taehyun was a friend after all.

Exactly. They were merely friends.

Quickly, she willed herself out of her Taehyun induced daze and let go of his arms. That seemed to be the thing to wake Taehyun up as well as they finally broke away from each other's gazes. "Sorry about that..." She sheepishly flickered her eyes everywhere but Taehyun.

"I-It's okay. You panicked, I understand."

"Yeah..." Miyoung replied, her cheeks flushed as her heart pounded against her ribcage.

Luckily, the awkwardness didn't last long as they went right back to their normal, playful selves. Taehyun ended up paying for their smoothies just like he promised. Miyoung thankfully took her own drink from him and took a sip.

"Do you want to go home now?" Taehyun instantly noticed the sad look that briefly fell upon her features at the mention of departing. "We need to shower and then we can do something fun? Hey, I heard there's a new movie showing at the cinema today. Want to go see if it's any good?"

"Sure!" Miyoung grinned before bringing the straw to her lips again. Taehyun watched the action, his gaze lingering for a few seconds before looking away.

On their way home, it was comfortably silent. Miyoung snuck a small glance at the boy next to her and started thinking. Thinking about the reason behind their sudden friendship. She really liked Taehyun and she was very thankful for his presence. But the more she thought about him, the more an underlying concern popped up.

It's that somewhere in between all of this, she had completely lost sight of what their goal was. It was to ultimately get her with Soobin. After that, they'll probably be right back to being nothing but mutual acquaintances. Nothing more, nothing less. But why does the thought of that terrify her so much? Why does it cause a knot in her stomach?
