There was just over a week left of summer vacation before it was time for life and all its responsibilities to make its appearance again.

Beomgyu didn't want to stress about his upcoming university orientation just yet. He has decided to enjoy every last bit of his last few days home before the university life swept him away.

That day he had planned to meet Eunseo. The two of them had been talking for a few days and Beomgyu, keeping true to his word, sent her many pictures of himself before they both said goodnight late at night — sometimes the early hours of the morning.

From their conversations, he's learned that Eunseo was a playful person quite like himself. Because of this, their personalities seemed to fit well together. They also shared the same sense of humor — something that the boy had struggled to find in pretty much all his previous relationships.

Just too bad she wasn't from his town. Beomgyu thought it was kind of a blessing in disguise, however, as Eunseo was far too special to be from a boring, small town like theirs.

Now, he stood in front of the arcade where they had agreed to meet. Beomgyu smiled to himself as he waited for Eunseo to arrive. The reason for their sudden 'date' was quite spontaneous if he had to be honest. Their call from the previous night replayed in his mind.

"I am the laser tag champion in my family." Eunseo proudly boasted.

Beomgyu chuckled. "Is that so? Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, Eunseo, but I am pretty much the best laser tag player on earth."

"Oh, don't be dramatic." He could practically feel her rolling her eyes at him, earning another chuckle from the boy.

"You don't believe me?"

"Of course, I don't. I don't know if you've noticed but you're quite the narcissist."

Beomgyu gasped. "Wow, Eunseo. I can't believe you just insulted me like that. You are clearly just jealous of my obviously better skills."

He could hear Eunseo scoff on the other line. "I haven't even played with you before. How could I possibly be jealous?"

"Hm, I don't know... Maybe we should play one time and I can show you my mad shooting skills." Beomgyu suggested.

Eunseo was silent for a second. "Like as a date?"

The term had Beomgyu speechless for a second. "Well, u-uh, not entirely... If you're n-not comfortable with that..."

"Well, then if you insist. You, me, tomorrow, the arcade." Eunseo challenged. "You in, Beom?"

'Beom'. The nickname did weird things to his heart. "You're definitely on then. Just don't blame me when you get a knock to your self esteem afterwards."

Eunseo laughed loudly, making Beomgyu's cheeks heat up. Thank goodness, she couldn't see him. "Okay, Beomgyu."

"Beom?" A voice saved him from falling into an endless pit he was about to fall in if he wasn't careful.

"Eunseo." Beomgyu's face lit up at the sight of his new friend. "Did I space out?"

"Yeah, you did. You should be careful, I could've been a kidnapper for all you know."

Beomgyu chuckled at her dramatic comment before taking the time to really take in her presence. This would only be the second time they met in person, the first obviously being the day they met. Eunseo had her hair tied into a messy bun which oddly brought out her hazelnut eyes a lot more. She was wearing denim overalls with a crop top underneath. It was simple and comfortable but still she looked cute.
