Then...

Everything fell apart in the end. Jack wasn't the gentlemen you thought he was. Apparently it's normal for just everyone to make someone else jealous at your expense.

You haven't told your father anything though, you're a big girl now and you're sure he wouldn't give you the best advice on this. After all he hasn't experienced any of this in the 40s, right?

You're starving, you can smell dinner from all the way down the hall and your feet move on their own accord when Bucky yells that dinner is indeed ready.

You practically inhale your food as your family watches on in disgusts almost.

'Hey so... haven't seen Jack around in a while, did something happen or?' Bucky asks as he watches you stuff your face.

You swallow the food down as well as the lump in your throat. 'We had a fight.. I just don't want to see him anymore..we decided to call it quits anyway..'

Mike lifts his head just about the same time his girlfriend does. 'What? What happened?'

'He just wasn't the right guy for me okay? Now can we shift the attention away from me? Please?' You snap.

'Girls...' Mike sighs. His girlfriend, Lola, violently elbows him in the side while giving you a wink. At least she tries to understand.

And now, 4 years later you're standing here. It's been chaos for the last few weeks in New York, but it's all gone a little quiet now. Enough anyway for Mike and Lola to finally hold their wedding in about a month.

They're busy planning and so is your dad. You never knew he'd be so good at wedding planning but here we are.

'Hey.. you okay?' Lola asks as she stands next to you.

The window you're standing in front of looks over a beautiful garden with maze and all. You didn't even realize you've been trying to get out of that maze with your eyes for the past hour.

'Yeah I'm fine.. just a lot on my mind.. but don't let me spoil your fun-'

'Fun? Honey everything else that's about to come is fun, having all these rehearsals and all is not so fun... I want it to be the real deal...' she sighs.

'Yeah I get-' your eyes fall upon a not so friendly neighborhood spider in the distance.

It might've been a whole four years but this is about the hundredth time you've caught him keeping tabs on you and you're about done with his antics at this point, he will not ruin your almost sister in laws wedding.. or your brothers..

'Will you excuse me, Lola? I have something to deal with..'

'Oh everything alright?'

'Yes just some very annoying bug...' you tell her before you walk outside.

You can see him hiding up on the maze and he's acting like he's hiding like a pro. You're wondering how he's never been caught before. Because as far as hiding from you? He's not been very good at the one thing he's supposed to be doing as a superhero.

'I can see you, you know..' you stand behind him making him turn around with a look that tells you everything you need to know. He's just bad at hiding... from you.

'Y/n.. I uh... hi... I guess..' he starts rambling.

'You guess?' You cross your arms. 'What are you doing here, Peter..are you keeping tabs on me?'

'No! No im not! I was t even really sure if you'd remember me...' the last part is said under his breath and you frown at him.

'Pretty sure I would remember my ex best friend ripping my heart out..' you scoff.

'Look.. I'm sorry... I really am.. I was just.. I miss you.. and I've said that to you before but... I've got nobody left... everyone basically forgot about me.. except you... and I guess that's the karma I get from the universe for hurting you...'

You sigh at him. God you miss him too, of course you do. All this time you've missed your best friend to fall back upon. It's been so long. Are you truly even thinking of forgiving him?

You're not sure if he's lying about everyone forgetting him but you do know about May. You cried for her too. So cruel this world can be.

'How do I know you're not lying?' You look him in the eyes.

It's now you see he's grown. His features becoming more defined. His baby face disappeared for sure.

'I'm done being childish.. I've lost too much so if I even have a chance to get back in touch with you.. I'm going to try my best.. I had Strange make everyone forget about me to save the world.. and it got so lonely after that..'

'You're going to have to give me more details..'

He wants to start explaining but you raise your hand to stop him. A small smile forming on your lips. 'Over a coffee or something...because apparently we've got a lot to catch up on after four years...'
