Summary: Doctor Yoohyeon falls in love with the reader, her patient who is in a coma and cared for by her sister (non-member) Minji.

Kim Yoohyeon smiled as she leaned against the door of Room 1997. Kim Minji was busy adjusting your hospital gown and talking to you as she did so, not having noticed the doctor yet. "You're going to want to dye your roots again so badly when you wake up," Minji was telling you. "But really, I love your natural color so much. It looks great on you."

"It really does," Yoohyeon finally spoke up, making Minji jump.

"Oh!" Yoohyeon giggled at the way that Minji placed her hand over her heart before joining in the doctor's laughter.

"It's good to get scared sometimes," Yoohyeon winked at Minji as she stepped further into the hospital room. "Every now and then, you know, to stimulate your heart."

"I'm only going to trust you because of that white coat with your name on it," Minji joked as she stood up from the rolling stool that she used every time that she visited you. "Anyways, I'll be out of your way now. Might run into you tomorrow, I'll be by about the same time."

"Sounds good," Yoohyeon nodded. She busied herself with checking your vitals while Minji gathered her things, but as soon as your older sister left, she sighed, taking her stethoscope off and observing you quietly.

Yoohyeon had been your doctor since the day of your accident. The moment that you had been wheeled in on a stretcher in front of her eyes, Yoohyeon felt an inexplicable feeling that you were special. It's not that she cared about you more than her other patients, of course – a doctor has to be able to give fair treatment, and Yoohyeon very much believed that – but she cared about you in different ways.

It was hard for Yoohyeon to be in love with someone that she had never really met. She had heard story after story about you from Minji. Your sister visited every day, and the doctor felt like in fact, thanks to all of Minji's tales of the two of you, she knew you quite well. But she always hesitated in a way.

Yoohyeon dropped her head as she took your hand in her own slowly – just one pinky interlocking with yours, in case you might not feel the way that she did. She had been convinced in the first couple days of you being in the hospital that you two had some kind of connection, but as time wore on, Yoohyeon began to question that, becoming more shy with you. She knew that she would just have to wait until you woke up to see what might really happen.

So that's what she did. Every day, Yoohyeon came to check on you just as Minji did. She stayed and talked to you whenever she could, and always put on your favorite K-pop group, Dreamcatcher, whenever she left so that you weren't lonely. She even sometimes put Lee Siyeon's song Paradise on loop, since she knew that the main vocalist was your bias.

Dreamcatcher was one of the reasons that Yoohyeon still had a feeling that you two might be more connected than any of her other patients. The all-girl rock group was her favorite, too, although she biased Lee Dami.

These days, you were showing more signs of waking from your coma. Minji was visiting every day now instead of every other day the way that she had been at first, and Yoohyeon dropped into your room more frequently, in addition to checking your vitals from the nurses' station whenever she could. It could be any day now when you finally fully opened your eyes and spoke.

"Minji is right about your hair," Yoohyeon mused, glancing at your roots. They were beginning to grow back after three weeks of lying in a hospital bed, plus however long you had procrastinated getting them done before that. "Your natural color looks good on you."
