♡
Hey, sweet angel.
It's been three years since we fell in love now. How does time fly by so quickly?
I wish sometimes that it would slow down, but I am more curious to see where it will take our journey. As you have promised me forever, I worry not. With you by my side, I'll always be okay. I hope that you feel the same way.
Thank you for always being the person to bring me comfort, to create calm and peace in my life when I am anxious, to love me when I feel unlovable.
Most of all, thank you for staying with me all this time. In my life, I saw many leave. You could have been one of them, but you never were. Over time, you have shown me that you never will be. Thank you for reminding me that a happy love story is not something that only exists in fairytales.
I love you always, Lee Yubin. I promise.
Dami refolded your letter carefully with a smile before she placed it back into its envelope. She didn't even look up before calling for you. "Honey!"
"Right here, Binnie," you giggled softly.
Dami looked up in surprise at the familiar nickname, and her open-mouthed expression quickly melted into a grin. "Come here."
You shifted your weight back onto your feet fully, brushing past the doorframe that you had been peeking around to join Dami on your bed.
Her arms wrapped around you without a word and held you there for a long time. You leaned your head against her shoulder, one hand flitting to her collarbone and resting on the bare part of her skin that you could find there.
Dami's heart beat steadily under your ear, her tummy rising and falling with her breath in a soothingly hypnotic manner. Her rosy lips rested against your head as her fingers rubbed your thigh.
"To what do I owe the honor of receiving such a lovely note?" she finally whispered. You jumped a bit, feeling as though you had suddenly been knocked out of a daze. Dami's grip around you tightened and she held you closer to her body in a silent apology for startling you. She massaged your back gently as you replied.
"I was just thinking about how even though time continues to pass quickly, you still love me. I'm very grateful for that, so I wanted to show you somehow."
"You do that all the time," Dami chuckled softly. "In all the beautiful ways that you love me. Including this...but I'm always well aware, honey."
You could always tell when Dami had more to say. She oftentimes liked to think thoroughly about things before she said them, so you remained silent and waited patiently. Sure enough, after a moment, she cleared her throat before she continued. "When we first met, I was really surprised that someone wanted to listen to me as much as you did. Everyone thinks that I'm quiet and don't have much to say."
Dami shifted her grip on you, her slender fingertips still drawing abstract patterns on your hips. Your legs had become tangled with hers as she sat on the edge of the bed and held you upright there with effortless strength. "You were the first person who knew that I did have things to say, I just needed time to open up. And you showed me so much care until I got there that I trusted you faster than I've trusted anyone else before."
She looked down at you with a smile, which you quickly returned. "You never gave me a reason to doubt that, honey. Even though we both went through personal hardships throughout our relationship, they only brought us closer together."
