Summary: Minji gives the reader a special kind of welcome to her summer house, which the reader vacations next to every year.

It was evening by the time that your old summer house appeared in your line of sight through the car windshield. A beautiful sunset scattered golden rays across its rich wood exterior and shone a spotlight on the homey place amongst its cookie-cutter surroundings, but your eyes drifted instead to the one next door as you parked your car.

A smile spread across Kim Minji's face as you cut the engine and opened the driver's side door.

Her patterned dress perfectly contrasted her violet hair and turquoise earrings that you could spot from yards away. She stood out in all the best ways against the porch that she was sitting upon, as well as the green background that surrounded her when she stood to greet you.

You would never tire of the way that she ran up to you every year, chocolate eyes sparkling and rosy lips parted to reveal the most beautiful of giddy grins. She was a whirlwind of amethyst curls and chiffon fabric as you lifted her in your arms, returning her expression in kind.

"Good to see you, Minnie."

"You too." Minji pulled away just enough to grasp your face between her hands, planting a firm kiss on your pursed lips. "Come on. Dinner's ready when you are."

"You prepared something for me besides yourself?" you asked cheekily, reaching out and squeezing Minji's backside as she turned towards her cabin.

She giggled, shying away from your teasing touch with arms drawn protectively around her middle. "Ah...that...fruit salad you like..."

You chuckled along with her as you followed her up the stairs and through the front door.

Minji had already made the place look beautiful for the year. Fresh floral bedding overspread the comfy bed, which you made yourself at home on the edge of as you watched Minji rummage around the kitchen. She set out the fruit salad as promised, along with some other delicious-looking dishes that seemed a bit more filling.

Regardless, you still reached for a strawberry first when she called you to the table.

"Thank you for the meal, Minji." You winked at the plum-haired woman as she took a seat across from you, enjoying the rosy glow that topped her cheeks at your words.

"Don't mention it," she mumbled. "How was your trip?"

"Fine, yours?"

"The same." Minji was just as quick to dive into the food as you were. The sinking sun in the summer sky was telltale enough: it had been a long day for both of you, and the best was still yet to come.

It was likely for that reason that conversation ceased between you, becoming replaced by the deep enjoyment of Minji's cooking and the sounds of nature outside. A pleasant warmth still drifted through the open windows and ruffled their linen curtains. It tickled your arms every so often, keeping you alert to the impending nightfall as the breeze got ever-so-faintly chillier each time.

You needn't have worried about rushing, for the food that Minji had lovingly prepared seemed to disappear quite quickly indeed between the two of you.

When your plates were empty and Minji sat back in her chair with a deep sigh, you cleared the table and began doing the dishes. She smiled at your silent thanks, though you still offered a verbal note as well. "It was great, Minnie," you whispered, one hand cupping her cheek and using it to bring her florid face to yours for a peck on her lips. "As always."
