He turns around then points his snake towards to white wall far ahead. It straightens into a rod.
"Do you see that?"
"No," I say after searching into the nothingness. "What was I supposed to see?"
"Inhale. Exhale. Now close your eyes. Count backwards from thirteen. Look again."
I open my eyes to a confused hallway. It reminds me of my skin, only that it's the colours of the rainbow encased by black and white. Then they fold into each other until we're back to white again.
"There are nine witches," he begins. "You've already met Xaxu. Each has a test. Well, sort of. Anyway, when you pass the test, a door will unlock just like your black box did."
"Unlock without a key?"
"No, of course not! You have to choose a coin. Just make sure you choose the right one."
"How will I know if I chose the right one?"
"Use your intuition." He turns to leave. "At least that still seems to be working."
"Wait! Don't go yet. Help me out a little. What are these tests going to be like?"
"All I'll say is that they'll want to make sure you're ready for what comes next."
"What the hell! Andromalius, I need more."
"If you get to the ninth door, you'll get the more you seek."
