"Don't forget you're twenty-nine years. Whether you pay or not, you'll have to move out next year. How are you going to find a place to stay that lets you owe rent from time to time?"

"An angel."

"What the hell!" I snatch my eviction slip back and stand. "How's an angel going to find you a place? Unless, of course, you're thinking of moving to heaven."

"You'll just have to wait and see."

"I give up!" I take a deep breath. "Let me go tidy that stupid room. I'll meet you back later."

"Did you check your lotto results?"

"Why?" I say walking out. "I never win anything."

"You'll win one day," she assures me. "Don't forget to bring the ticket on your way back."

"Send one of your freaking angels for it."
