Kat sighed as she walked through Campus once more. It wasn't fair that she still had to attend school. After explaining to Vampire King Cain that they came to find out more information on Aldron and other Dragon mage, he promised to look into it personally and get back to her. Which is why she found herself in school once again the next day while she waited for input from Cain, as he insisted she call him, and her sister. Well at least it was Friday. She had only one class on Fridays.

Chris and Damon were behind the group whispering and giggling while Kat, Jan and Ash walked in front. Jason hadn't shown up at their spot so they assumed he wasn't on Campus  that day.

Kat and Jan were discussing the latest events in Kat's life and Jan was filled with awe at the prospects of such power.

"But why would Aldron do such a thing? And what does he want with the both of you anyway?"

"The both of us, like Logan and I?" Kat asked. "Why do you think it's about us specifically?"

"Well they could have taken anyone's mate bond but they picked you two"

"Well following that logic they could have chosen anyone to give the bond to but they chose them" Ash joined in.

They all paused speaking to think.

"The way I see it the chances are 50-50. Either of these situations could have been random. Or they both could have been well planned. There's no way to know for sure" Kat finally said. Jan nodded her agreement and Ash grunted his.

"We'll never let anything or anyone harm you Kat" Ash said. She smiled her thanks.

They walked into Physics 131, sans Chris and Damon, and sat for the class. Two minutes later it was officially time for the class and the Lecturer, Mr Johnson, a human, did not waste a minute. He got up and began to teach. Kat felt this weird feeling, as if she was being watched. She looked around but no one was looking at her. She chalked it up to paranoia and let it go in favor of listening to the class.

After school, Kat decided to waive going home with Damon and instead hang out with her friends. She more or less chased Damon home because he had been hogging Chris for long enough. They went to their spot. One of them had taken the decorations down so they sat on the chairs surrounding the small table and discussed as they drank and ate.

"You know I haven't actually seen Logan in school since all this started" Kat said.

"I was wondering how long it would be until you brought the topic right back to yourself Kat" Chris said and rolled her eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kat asked. She had been laying her head on Ash's lap but sat up now so she could look at Chris.

"It means you couldn't be more of an attention hog"

"Oh do forgive me if my being close to death because of a severed mate bond is inconveniencing you" Kat said sarcastically.

"You always have to play the victim don't you" she continued. Kat narrowed her eyes at her.

"I am not the victim and I never will be. You talk about me hogging the spotlight do you know how many people live in your shadow all day everyday? Myself included!"

"I am afterall your Princess. You're supposed to live in my shadow" Chris replied, a smug look on her face.

"No see that's where you got it wrong. You're the Princess of the Fae. Last I checked, I'm no tooth fairy so" Kat trailed off smugly. If there was one thing the Fae hated it was being called tooth fairies. Chris lunged for Kat but Ash got up and held her back.

"Yeah that's obvious. You're not Fae, not vampire or wolf, you're nothing! Useless and unwanted" Chris screamed in her rage as she fought to get loose from Ash's arms. Kat recoiled in shock. She didn't think Chris would go that far. Tears welled in her eyes and she didn't hear Jan and Ash chastising Chris for what she had said. She just blinked hard and began walking away.
