Kat could feel the tension in the room. She could also feel all the eyes alternating between her and Karen. Cain was positively fuming. The stake, Kat could tell by the strain in her sister's face, was way too deeply embedded to attempt a rescue. Were anyone to move, even to teleport, he would drive the stake into her heart before they could get to him. Kat also knew that Aldron wouldn't be dumb enough to walk into a room filled with powerful supernaturals and attack their Queen with his physical body. He couldn't be touched. Cain knew that as well as everyone else. And Kat knew he must feel so helpless and that was a new feeling for him. He looked ready to explode.

Aldron wasn't bluffing too. When Ash grabbed her hand to stop her he moved the stake deeper and when Karen shouted for her to stay, he did it again.

"I'll do everything you ask Aldron. Just don't hurt my sister. Promise me" Kat said at the door, feeling the most helpless she'd ever been.

"Scouts honor" he said.

"And that's assuring" she muttered sarcastically. As soon as she stepped out of the door a sack was indeed placed over her head. She groaned. She was clustrophobic for heaven's sake. They began to pull her but she wasn't sure in what direction. She could only hope that Al kept his promise and let her sister go. She was pretty sure she wouldn't see her family again and she regretted not saying goodbye. Tears pricked her eyes but she quickly blinked them away.

"Can I at least have a book to read during the ride?" She asked and was promptly ignored.

Suddenly, there was commotion and chaos around her. The people who held her let her go and she could hear grunts of pain. From the sounds she could tell it wasn't a fight, it was an ambush. Since they had tied her hands she couldn't take off the sack. So she instead remained on the ground where they dropped her and began working her ropes. A few minutes later her hands were free and she took the sack off.

It was horrible. There was blood everywhere and screams emitted from the ball room, the door to which was bolted shut, trapping everyone inside. Karen had explained that a spell had been placed on the ball room and little to no magic could be used while in it. That was to prevent any attacks like the one currently happening. But apparently, it backfired because no one could beam out of the room.

Kat could see the people who tried to kidnap her falling by the second. And yet she couldn't see their attackers. They must be Jinn of air, using it to cloak themselves.

The remainder of Aldron's men who were still alive retreated and just when she felt safe, she felt the piercing sting of a blade on her neck.

"Call off your men Jinn King or she dies" Aldron said even as he pressed the blade deeper.

"What is your problem with the whole threatening people with weapons tonight?" Kat asked. And was once again ignored. She sighed inwardly. This was it for her. This Jinn King probably didn't give a rat's ass about what happened to her.

Surprisingly though, all the Jinn appeared and dropped their weapons. The last to appear was black. Ah, so he was the Jinn King. All this while, she'd been chatting with the Jinn King, the man who started the war and threw out all the supernaturals from the magical realm. Shit.

"Al you can't kill her now. The spell is still incomplete, we both know that. Now let her go because I will kill you if you hurt a hair on her head. And you know I don't bluff" the Jinn King threatened with an edge to his sweet voice she hadn't heard when he spoke to her.

"Question, why do you care Black? Or should I say Jinn King? I mean do you want me for the prophecy too?"

"Shut up Kat" Aldron and the Jinn King said at the same time.
