She slept great. Really great. It could've been the soft duvet wrapped around her. It could've been the lack of nightmares. Or it could have been her handsome mate wrapping her in his arms all night. It was dealer's choice really.
She snuck him out in the morning, showered, had breakfast and then went back to her room to think.
The way she saw it, the crazy woman in her dreams was her best bet at finding out what this prophecy was all about. If she would talk straight and not keep shouting for her to kill. Of course if Rosa could help her understand the woman more then that problem would be solved. Though she felt guilty everytime she thought about knowing that Jason's beloved little sister was safe and sound and she left him thinking that she was dead.
Just then, a call came in. She checked caller ID then grinned and answered.
"Hey Gran Gran" she said.
"Jeeze you call me that it makes me sound so old" her Grandma Jane complained.
"Please, that'll be the last thing on the minds of anyone who sees or hears you"
"True, true. So how've you been sweet heart?"
"I've been better. How's the house guest?" Kat asked.
"Oh she's just delightful. We're having so much fun together. You didn't tell me she had phasmophobia"
Kat sighed. "I'm sorry. Perhaps I was hoping it wouldn't come up"
She could practically hear her rolling her eyes.
"Well it took a while but I've gotten her out of her shell mostly. She's learning a lot about the supernatural. It's so much fun teaching her. She's an eager student" Kat grinned. She knew they'd get along famously.
"I'm glad. Can you put her on?" Kat asked, then frowned.
"Hold on, never mind. Just tell her I'm sending all my love and kisses. Love you, bye" Kat sang and ended the phone call just as she heard a knock on her window. She looked out and sighed. Julian was perched on her window sill. She hesitated, then got up and walked to the window. She didn't open it, however.
"What?" She asked.
"Could you open the window? This isn't as easy as it looks" he said calmly.
"Um I don't think so"
"Why? You afraid of me? You only need to be afraid if you've done something to me. Have you?" He asked in that eerie calm voice.
"Well with the way you think, I'm sure I have" Kat said.
"It's ok Kat I won't hurt you. Plus I'm gonna fall soon. Please"
Against her better judgement, she unlatched the window and pulled it open. He entered and she put a hand up to stop him from coming closer.
"What do you want Jules?" She asked.
"I haven't seen Marie in a while. I was away for a bit fixing someone's mistake. I get back and my lovely girlfriend isn't there where I left her. Why do you think that is, Kat?" He asked.
Kat pursed her lips. "Oh I don't know. It's very possible that she got tired of your tyranny and skedaddled"
"Hmm see I doubt that because she's a little scardy cat and she wouldn't do anything without someone making her"
"Scardy cat? How mature" she mocked.
"See I believe if Marie was missing without you knowing where she is, you would've been all over the place. The fact that you're not..." he trailed off with a cocked brow.
