Scars

We all have scars

Either ones that were dug

Into our skin with a knife

Or a kind of scar

That exists on our hearts

And our souls.

We all have scars

Whether we need to wear long sleeves

To hide them

Or behind a fake smile.

No matter what the pain is the same

Even if we don't have

Scars on our wrists

Or a rope tied

Around our necks

Everyone has felt

Their own kind of pain

Whether it be emotional or physical

Done by themselves

Or people around them

It doesn't matter

We are all the same

We all have scars.

We all have battles

That rage from the inside

We all have secrets

That are dying

To be told

We all have something

That is weighing us down

Making us second guess ourselves

And think what would society want?

Maybe if we took off the labels

And accepted each other

Maybe then we would see

No matter who you are

Popular or unpopular

Rich or poor

We all have our own battles

Our own scars

Our own pain

That we deal with each day.

So be kind to every person you meet

Because you never know

What they're going through.
