My Dark Poetry

Fortress

My walls are built high

Acting as a fortress

To shield me

From the world

My walls are not built of stone

They are not man made

But they are important

My walls are on the inside

Acting as a fortress

To protect myself

From getting hurt

Shielding myself

Is the only thing

I do best.

I push people out

So they can't break

The wall

Without it I am weak

And useless

I keep in my feelings

As to show I'm brave

When in reality

I am far from it.

My walls are built so high

And so strong

So no one can get in

Because every time

One wall falls

Another builds.

I have a fortress

Built inside of me

And no one

Can see my weakness

And I would like to keep it that way.
