Society

Society taught me one thing
Since I was young
It was that I will never be perfect
No matter how much I starve
No matter how many times I purge
I will never reach their standard
Of perfection
Until I'm six feet under
And they pretend
That I was the most beautiful girl in the world.

Society takes us down
Until we can't take anymore
We cut
We starve
We binge and purge
We bring pain
To both our minds
And our bodies
Just so society will be happy
But darling
Society will never be satisfied.

I starve
I cut
I purge
For society
When all society has given me
Is the blades
That have brought my own
Self destruction.
Society's bringing me down
And I can't compete
Because the fat girl
Will never be good enough
Because I the fat girl
Will never ever be good enough
For society's version
Of perfection.

So I'm waiting
Until the day
I have enough
Buried six feet underground
And finally there will be silence
Because society can't beat me down
Anymore.
