It's hard to live in the human skin

That's why most of us

Tear it apart

Leaving nothing but scars

That people stare at

And judge us for.

They shouldn't judge

They shouldn't gawk

And above all

They shouldn't pity

Because you are stronger

Than you were back then

And these scares made you

Who you are now

So hold your head up high

And walk past all those people

Who had doubted you in the past

Show them you don't care

Because the war is over

And you came out on top.

I watch from afar

As the people who doubted you

Step aside

I can't help but smile

Knowing you've faced your demons

They sank

And died away

But mine are still alive

And fresh in my mind

As you walk away

To a new day

I walk back to the knife

Knowing I'll never come out on top

Because unlike you

I won't win this war

And come out on top.
