The title of this one is a half parody of the alliterative titles that used to be so popular when I started reading mind control fiction; often with stories like this one.
Another idea inspired by some of the classic stories on mind-control fiction forums; but with a little twist.
Aaron and Sadie have been together since college, and their life is pretty good. But Aaron is wondering if things might be getting a little stale in the bedroom. He wants to try new things, to liven up their sex life a little, but he's too embarrassed to say to his partner what he wants. She's suggested she might be open to trying more things, and said that she'd like him to be more forceful and take the initiative, but he's still nervous to push her too hard, and every time he tries to initiate something more adventurous he can sense that she's not enjoying it, so he'll have to back down again.
As we're in Aaron's POV, the reader never sees that Sadie is hoping to see a more dominant side to her bf. The turn-off for her is when he's too scared to suggest the things he wants, starting to try something but he's so nervous that she can't take him seriously. If he'd just get over his nerves and actually push her, she's sure she would love to try whatever he wanted. But he doesn't realise this, and he's always worried about hurting her or pushing her away.
He starts to get frustrated at his inability to push for what he wants, but he doesn't realise that it's his problem. Then he sees an ad. Some piece of junk mail, the kind of stuff that gets bundled inside free magazines. A voucher for a free course in relation hypnosis, that's supposed to help you push for what you really want. He thinks it's dumb, but decides to give it a try because it's free. Initially figures that Sadie has asked him to take charge more, and if she'll agree to this then he'll be able to take charge without the risk of upsetting her. He doesn't really understand how it works – this is more like her field than his – but he thinks it might be fun.
He gets the course materials. There's a series of exercises, starting out with just reading a set of stories about someone being hypnotised, and asking you to try to imagine how the characters feel, and pick out their different emotional states. It explains that this will help you learn to recognise subconscious cues which can help when you actually come to hypnotise someone. He finds it easy enough, and finds the stories are actually pretty engaging. Once or twice he's finished the exercise without even remembering the details.
Initially he's not seeing this as a manipulative thing. He's thinking that some kind of trigger play might be fun, and intends to discuss it with her once he's far enough into the course that he doesn't have to worry about making stupid mistakes. (She was a psych major when they met in college, so he was really embarrassed about screwing up the basics of something she has more understanding of; so didn't want to raise the subject until he was more confident).
But then, after reading the case studies, he often finds himself dreaming about them. Like, a story similar to the one he just read, but with him and Sadie in. And a lot of these stories are more like the classic EMCSA fare; he's using the amazing power of hypnosis to change his girlfriend's preferences, making her like the things he does. In some of these dreams he's just more confident in himself, in others he's an "evil" mind controller using her for his own desires. But because of the dreams, he chooses different options when he comes to the end of the introductory course; taking elective modules in stealth hypnosis and conditioning. He's now thinking that he can make Sadie want the same things he does, it will make them both happier. He's lying to himself, thinking that this is somehow a moral choice, but he thinks it's still a good thing. And now he gets online coaching sessions with a tutor; voice chats where he can go over his coursework, and audio lectures to listen to while he goes over a worksheet. He must be a natural, because aa lot of the time he doesn't even pay attention; he spaces out doodling, not even paying attention to what the test is about, and he still gets an excellent mark.
Eventually, the dreams start influencing him in the real world. He tentatively does a stealth induction over breakfast, giving his girlfriend a freeze trigger that he uses to tease her a little. And he finds out that it really turns him on to realise that he can do whatever he wants without her knowing, so he proceeds further down that path.
After a while, and maybe another trigger or two, he gets used to giving in to his own urges without worrying about what his girlfriend wants. And he's getting used to rough sex in his dreams, a representation of his desire to be 'masculine' and 'dominant'. He thinks about another trigger, to make Saide instantly obedient, wanting nothing more than to obey him, and he starts putting a plan together. But a time comes when he doesn't want to wait any more. When she's a little hesitant he starts to push her around, telling her that she's just there to please him, and she complies. Now he has the confidence he needed, and he decides that he's going to really show her how manly he can be.
Afterwards, he starts to feel guilty. He's used his girlfriend like a sex toy, and not even asked if she was okay with it. So he's all apologetic, begging her forgiveness, and she tells him not to be silly. All she wanted was for him to be more confident; she needed him to be aggressive and push her, and she's really glad that he managed it even if she had to hypnotise him first. Because, of course, she's been his tutor all along, and those exercises (and the dreams) were all created to let him explore that side of himself; giving him permission to do what he wants without second guessing and worrying too much about her, when all she wanted was to be forced.
But he really can't believe that he didn't notice she had the same name as the tutor.
