The narrator here is probably reminiscing about how she became Master's sex slave. She admits that she was hypnotised, but then goes on to explain that it isn't what it sounds like, and she wants the reader to understand why she chose a life like this.

It starts out with her and one of her friends. They've known each other right through school, and a few years beyond. The friend is going to university soon, and is wondering if she'll find Mister Right there, or just make a bunch more terrible dating mistakes. Narrator doesn't have such a bright future ahead of her, but has managed to pick up a job as a barista at a Nerdzone (gaming and coffee shop) where she's been a regular customer for the last few years. She has never had a relationship that lasted longer than a couple of dates, and doesn't really know how to deal with one because she's so nervous and isn't good at reading between the lines. She's too scared to get close to anyone, and is starting to wonder whether that might result in her being single forever.

The friend has an idea to fix this: she's going to set her friend up on a blind date. But more than that, she's going to stop her inhibitions getting in the way. So she hypnotises her (after persuading her that it's a good idea), and gives her a suggestion that gives her the kind of intense physical attraction that she's always read about in romance novels but never really felt. She finds that if she gets confused by all the subtle signals of dating, she will automatically start to say what she actually thinks or feels; resolving any confusion and misunderstanding. And the more a guy respects her, putting her life and her desires first, the more her arousal will build up so that no amount of inhibitions taught by her over-protective parents will stand in the way.

Then, when the blind date doesn't show, she gets talking to someone in the café. A member of a local writing group who meet up there; on his own because he arrived earlier than all his friends. And when she starts to feel the lust building inside her, she realises it's a signal from the hypnotic suggestions to let her know that she might like this guy, even if she hasn't realised it yet. And when she finds herself admitting that she's wondering if he wants sex, he nervously admits that he's a virgin. Despite being quite a few years older, he's never had a real relationship because he's on the autistic spectrum and never learned all the nonverbal cues to let him know that somebody is interested. He prefers to say exactly what he wants when interacting with someone, and has decided that if you can't do romance without all kinds of expectations and unspoken rules, then he isn't interested. He says that he finds her attractive, but that he wouldn't consider a relationship because he doesn't want to hurt her by missing some unspoken rule. And she thinks about it for a second, and realises that because they have the same kind of issue, they might actually work well together. She says that she enjoys talking to him, she'd like to do that more and find out more about him, and she also wants to have sex with him. And as he tries to make the conversation as clear and direct as possible, really concerned about making sure that there's no possible misunderstanding and that this is what she really wants, she can't control her artificial lust anymore.

In a way, her friend has overridden the lottery of pheromones and chemical attraction, instead making her intensely attracted to a man who will actually be good for her and help her to grow. But at the same time, she realises that the feeling of having her emotions modified is turning her on a little. She loves the desire, and the urge to obey, so she asks her friend to set up some more triggers. So her new boyfriend can turn her into a nymphomaniac whenever he wants, or make her devoted and submissive, and the more he makes her happy, the more powerful those triggers become. It's unconventional, but this life with Master turns out to be exactly what she needed.
