Melissa is a victim; and a good one. But what's she the victim of?

Well, hidden in plain sight there's a secret web of evil hypnotists who like to collect slaves. Some of them are aware they're not alone, and trade their pets between them; while others think they're the only one to figure out how to subvert free will so completely. But they're not all geniuses, and even a mastermind makes mistakes. So there's also a loose network of former-slaves who've escaped control, and an unofficial group of detectives (some with police or other connections) making secret attacks against the secret criminals. The Agency has rescued some pretty influential and/or rich victims, so they have funding and resources even if their existence isn't widely known.

Melissa is a victim. She's beautiful, moderately submissive, has the right posture to show it off, and is just slightly more hypnotisable than the average person. But because of the way her brain works, the last traces of childhood OCD that took an awful lot of therapy to get over, certain kinds of post-hypnotic suggestions don't work properly. She can't forget things she's been told to forget. And she has a few compulsions that spring into action whenever she does something she'd normally be uncomfortable with. It's like a red flag, a behaviour she can't control, that starts unweaving any suggestions around what she has been conditioned to do.

She's a professional victim, and quite well paid by the Agency. She gets caught, infiltrates a harem, and it's usually only hours or days before her normal personality reasserts itself. But this time might be a little different, because the master of the house isn't a hypnotist. He hasn't attempted any kind of induction. He just tells her what to do, and she finds she can't help herself. When it goes outside her comfort zone, she finds herself falling into familiar habits; but even those compulsions can't override the new ones she has to serve her master.
