Beautiful Mistakes [Brollins]

Chapter 3

Rebecca glanced at all of the city lights as she traveled through LA traffic. Everywhere she looked she saw something that reminded her of Luke, which made her want to forget everything that had just happened and run back to him, hoping he would give her an explanation.

But she knew he wouldn't. She knew he wasn't sorry. He didn't even chase after them when her and Colby walked away, he backed up and shut the apartment door.

Now Rebecca was going to have to call her family and break their hearts, telling them she isn't getting married. She was also going to have to sell her wedding dress, because there was no way she would be keeping that hanging in her closet just for it to haunt her with memories of them together.

She didn't know what would have happened if Colby wouldn't have been there. She probably would have thrown something at him, or worse, hurt Sarah. She didn't understand why Sarah would want to cheat on Colby anyway, because he was a lot more handsome than Luke. Long black hair, dark brown eyes, and he not only had a sexy body, but he had a good heart as well.

Rebecca drove into a driveway of a big house. She parked the car and got out, checking her surroundings. She sighed and started walking up the concrete driveway before knocking on the front door.

She listened to the faint voices before seeing a woman with short black hair open the door. "Becks?!"

Rebecca smiled as the woman pulled her into a hug. "Hi Pam!"

Pamela smiled and pulled back confused. "When did you get back from the trip? We would have planned a dinner or something for you!"

Rebecca then looked over Pam's shoulder to see Ashley and Mercedes waving at her. "Uhm...it's a long story. And I really hate to ask this, but am I allowed to crash here for a while?"

Pam nodded and gave her a small smile. "Yes of course! Come on in..."

Rebecca walked in to the big two story house, and looked around at her surroundings. Ashley and Mercedes came from the kitchen and gave her a big hug, before Pamela joined in. "Girl we've missed you!" Ashley said.

Rebecca smiled at them as they all stepped back. "Trust me I've missed you all too."

Mercedes then clapped her hands together. "How was the trip?"

"It was pretty good! I passed my exam!" Rebecca said throwing her hands up.

The girls all screamed and gave her another hug. "So you're actually going to be able to be a dentist?!" Ashley asked.

Rebecca nodded and the girls hugged her once again. "That's amazing Becks!" Pam said taking a seat on the couch.

"I'm so happy for you!" Mercedes said. "You're about to have the best two months of your life! Getting a new job AND getting married? I'm jealous." The girl's laughed while Rebecca looked down at her feet. "That reminds me! Luke's mom dropped off some more decorations for you. She said she got them on sale and thought you would like them."

Mercedes brought a big box in the living room, and sat it in front of Rebecca. "I may have peeked through it so don't be mad." Ashley said smiling up at her.

Rebecca nodded and pressed her lips together. "If you like any of it you can keep it." When the girls all looked at each other confused, Rebecca sighed. "I need to talk to you guys..."

She sat her car keys down and took a seat across from Mercedes and Ashley. "I'm not getting married..."

"What?" Pamela said slouching her shoulders.

Mercedes looked at Ashley before looking at Rebecca sadly. "Becks, what happened...?"

Rebecca then explained the whole situation to the girls. Her coming in to surprise him, her not being greeted by Clint—who she already missed—her meeting Colby and then them finding out their significant others were cheating on them.

Mercedes shook her head and stood up pacing the room while Ashley and Pamela gave Rebecca a sad hug. The girls had been so excited to see their friend get married, and now they couldn't.

"I'm so sorry, Becks." Pam said while her and Ashley rubbed her back. "If we would have known I promise we would have told you."

Rebecca nodded and gave them a small smile. "I know."

Ashley then stood up. "I'll go clean out a guest bedroom ok? Me and Pam will decorate it, and you can stay here as long as you need."

Pamela nodded. "Yeah! You could just move in for good then the four of us can live together!"

Rebecca laughed and nodded slowly. "Thank you guys, for being here for me..."

Ashley smiled down at her. "Always."

Rebecca watched as Pam and Ashley were walked upstairs to the guest bedroom, before she felt the couch sip beside of her. "Do you need me to talk to his mom? I can call the venue and everything and tell them we've cancelled..."

Rebecca shook her head as she squeezed Mercedes's hand. "Thank you, but I need to do it myself."

Mercedes smiled. "Of course. We're here for you Becks. Remember that ok?"

Rebecca nodded as Mercedes carried the box of decorations to the laundry room. She then sighed and leaned back on the couch. Even though she had lost her fiancé, she had gained not only a new friend in Colby, but she had her best friends by her side, and in Rebecca's eyes, that's all the love she ever needed.
