Now that everything was settled at work, Rebecca was excited to actually work again. She didn't have to worry about who she was bothering—not that it mattered anyways—, but because they were all there to do their jobs, not bring one another down. That evening though, once Rebecca got back to the apartment, she immediately laid down on the couch to rest next to August. Colby went home and called his mom to ask about coming over Friday night for dinner. They needed to break the news to them, and since Rebecca would be moving in with him Saturday, he figured Friday night would be a good time to tell his parents.
When 5 o clock came around on Friday evening, Rebecca walked into her now bland bedroom to dig through a box for a dress. She had packed most of her belongings already, like decorations, shoes, and clothes she knew she wasn't going to wear the next day.
When she found a dress she liked—which was just a long black dress with a slit in it—she started putting on makeup and attempted to curl her hair. She didn't want to look all fancy, but that dress was the only comfortable one she had—and it was also the only one that wasn't skin tight on her.
Once she was done she put on her shoes and walked out her bedroom door. She sighed as she walked to the kitchen, making Pamela turn around and look at her. "You look so pretty! Do you and Colby have a date night planned?"
Rebecca shook her head as she opened up a bottle of water. "Sadly, no. We're going to his parents house for dinner..."
Pamela's eyes went big. "Are you breaking the news?"
Rebecca nodded and moved to the living room to sit by Pamela. "Yeah." She then closed her eyes. "I have a bad feeling about it though. Their going to flip and blame it on me and then they're gonna hate me even more than what they already do."
Pamela pressed her lips together. "They don't hate you Becks..."
Rebecca looked up at her and sighed. "I know. When we went to their house the first time, we had only known each other for three days. So Colby told a bunch of lies the entire time and...I guess I just thought they could see right through us because the lies were pretty crazy."
Pamela laughed. "That seems like something he would do." She then gave her friend a gentle punch to the arm. "Everything will be fine Becks...they can't blame all of this on you. It takes two to tango."
Rebecca laughed and reached over to hug Pamela. "I'm gonna miss you so much, dude."
Pamela smiled and wrapped her arms around Rebecca. "I'm gonna miss you too. We're like sisters ya know? It's gonna feel so weird without you."
Rebecca pulled back and sighed. "We can always get together for girls night. We could even make more dates so we can see each other more!"
Pamela smiled and nodded. "Yes we'll do that." She then looked down at August and her dog, Felix, who came into the room. "How much stuff do you still have to pack?"
Rebecca ran a hand through her curls. "I have most of my clothes and essentials packed, but I still have two more boxes to pack."
Pamela nodded. "We'll help you tomorrow, with the rest of your stuff. That way we spend quality packing time together."
Rebecca laughed again. "Quality packing time? Really?"
After a few more minutes of chatting, the doorbell then rang, so Pamela stood up to walk to the door. She opened it and smiled. "Hey Lopez."
Colby gave her an awkward smile and walked in. "Hi Pamela. How are you?"
She smiled as she walked back towards the living room. "I'm good. Just a little sad you're taking my bestie away..."
Colby shrugged and watched Pamela wink at Rebecca as she stood. "What can i say, she likes me better than you three."
Pamela scoffed. "All right smarty pants, we all know the real reason she's leaving. More sex..." She then smirked as she watched the duo eye her.
Rebecca shook her head as she stood by Colby. "Haha very funny."
Colby laughed and wrapped his arm around Rebecca's waist. "You look beautiful." He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "As always."
Pamela smiled, and annoyingly made a kissy face. "Can you go an hour without touching her? You've always got your hands all over her."
Rebecca laughed and poked him in the side. "Pam, you sound jealous..."
She rolled her eyes and smiled. "I was just joking." She then watched as Colby looked at the time. "You two have fun, or try to at least."
Colby shook his head. "Fun? This is a nightmare." He then sighed. "You ready to go babe?"
Rebecca nodded. "Not really, but the more we procrastinate, the more nauseous I'm going to get."
Colby nodded and lead her out of the apartment, after waving goodbye to Pamela. They walked down to Colby's car—slowly, to try and settle their nerves—and got in—where they continued to freak out—before driving off towards his parents house in fear.
