Chapter 40

Joseph spent the day with them that day. Although Rebecca just laid around in the bed and on the couch, he enjoyed being there. He even helped the duo plan how they were going to tell Jonathan and Renee the news.

When evening came though, Joseph headed home and left the duo to themselves. They ate supper while watching Harry Potter, then they got ready for bed since they had to work tomorrow.

They went back to to their regular routine in five months. Between work and many, many doctor appointments, the duo were very busy, and were even starting to look for their first house.

Once Rebecca started showing a little more—which was about three months ago—they started telling more people the news. Of course, everyone was happy for them, and Renee wouldn't stop talking about play dates their babies could share together—especially now that their little girl was almost four months old.

Their lives were pretty full, but they couldn't be more excited about finding their new home, and welcoming their baby.

It was now April, and the duo were currently sitting around at their apartment looking online for houses, while Renee was throwing their gender reveal party together.

"What about a log cabin?" Rebecca spoke up as she scrolled through her computer. "Tennessee has tons of them."

Colby chuckled from the other side of the couch. "Do you really plan on moving to Tennessee?"

Rebecca sighed and moved the computer off of her belly to the couch. "No...but we've looked for months and haven't found the perfect one."

Colby turned off his phone and moved his hands towards her feet, massaging them. "Honey, we're not going to find the "perfect" home. We'll make it perfect. With us, our kids, and how ever many dogs you end up making me get."

Rebecca laughed and ran her hand over her abdomen with a smile. "Do you really want more than one kid?"

Colby smiled as he continued massaging her feet. "I want how ever many kids you're willing to give me."

Rebecca smiled and signed when August jumped up on the couch, cuddling beside of her. She moved and rubbed her hand through his fur. "What do you think the gender is?"

"I'm ninety nine percent sure it's a boy." Colby said with a confident smile.

Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows. "You are way to cocky ." She then watched August move up in her lap to rest its head on her bump. "Just to bet against you, I'm saying it's a girl."

Colby shrugged. "Okay. I can't wait to see your face when I'm right."

Rebecca shook her head and nudged him with her feet. "I guess we should go find out who's right then, huh?"

About an hour later, the duo had changed clothes and went to the location Renee had sent them. They walked hand in hand inside of the blue and pink decorated building. "Renee!" Rebecca said with a shocked expression. "This place is beautiful...how did you do all of this?"

Renee smiled with Nora in her arms. "You like it?! I had Joe and Jon to help me set it all up."

Colby smiled and went over to greet his friends with a hug. "Well it looks great, guys."

Jonathan nodded with a confident grin. "I thought it was pretty good too." He then looked down at Colby's clothes. "Uh oh."

Colby followed his eyes and then looked back up at him with a confused look. "What do you mean uh oh?"

Jonathan then glanced towards Renee and Rebecca—who was letting Renee feel the baby. "She's wearing a pink dress. And you're wearing blue?"

When it finally clicked with Colby, he nodded with a grin. "Yep. It's a boy."

Jonathan furrowed his eyebrows and glanced at Joseph. "Can you believe this guy? He's betting against his girl."

Joseph shook his head. "Always trust the pregnant lady man. If she thinks it's a girl you betta agree with her."

Colby shook his head. "I can't agree with her when I'm positive what it is."

Jonathan and Joseph gave each other a glance and laughed. "You excited man?"

Colby nodded. "Yeah. Pumped, actually."

Joseph nodded. "Well we're happy for you, Lopez." He then nudged his shoulder. "Have you found a house yet?"

Colby shrugged. "We've got one in mind, but Becks can't make her decision. And I'm not going to rush her to just pick one...she has a say in it too."

Jonathan nodded and crossed his arms. "I'm sure you'll both decide on one. It may take a while, but you'll find the perfect one."

Rebecca then walked over with Nora in her arms. "Look, Colby. She likes me."

Colby smiled as something warmed in his chest. Looking down at the two made him love Rebecca even more, and he couldn't wait to see her hold their child. "You're a pro."

Rebecca smiled up at him, making Colby weak in his knees. "Motherly things, I guess". Rebecca then ran her finger over her hand, watching in awe as the little girl gripped onto her finger.

Renee walked back over with a big smile. "Your parents just pulled in, Colby." She then looked back towards the entrance. "I think some of Rebecca's friends did too." She looked back at the group with an excited look on her face. "Are y'all ready?"
