Chapter 16

Rebecca loved her new little friend, and after Pam and Mercedes got home, the first thing they did was take their dogs on a walk throughout the neighborhood. They talked about their day and even gave Rebecca name suggestions for the pug.

One name though, stuck out to Rebecca. August. Me and Colby found each other again on August 8th. So that's what she decided on, the pug's name would be August.

Over the course of the week though, Rebecca not only got August, but she finally got an interview at the dentist office Colby works at. There was at least ten other people interviewing that day, and he would only be hiring five of them. She went in on Thursday morning though, hoping she could get it.

Thankfully, Rebecca—along with the other four new workers—got the job, and they would all be starting Monday...which is tomorrow. And to say Rebecca was excited was an understatement.

Rebecca jumped off of Colby's lap smiling, before jumping in a circle. "This is crazy, Lopez!" Colby had came over to the girl's apartment for the weekend, and since the girls had went out partying, it was just the two of them.

Colby smiled. "I'm glad you're happy."

Rebecca stopped to catch her breath. "I'm more than happy!" She then jumped on the couch beside him, pulling him in for a kiss. Colby of course obliged, and moved his hand up and down her thigh, making sure to squeeze her butt as he rested it there.

Rebecca smiled against his lips as she pulled back. "All of my hard work is finally paying off..."

Colby smiled and gave her a hard dizzying kiss, one that lasted so long, Colby ended up hovering on top of her. "Well, you deserve it Becks. Being a dental hygienist isn't as easy as it looks." He said making Rebecca laugh.

"Is it just because of the dentist?" She said in between kisses.

Colby nodded. "Yep."

Colby smiled listening to Rebecca laugh in between their kisses. He then started rubbing his hands up and down her thigh deepening the kiss. Rebecca moved her hands up his abs, removing his shirt along the way, while Colby pulled her leggings down.

He pulled back to get them off of her while she took of her shirt. He then slid off his shorts, leaving him in his boxers before capturing her lips in his once again. Although they both had to work tomorrow, nothing could keep them apart, and before either of them knew it, morning would be around soon.

Rebecca's phone had went off at seven, and when she rolled over to turn it off, she realized she wasn't in her bed, so she went crashing to the floor. Rebecca groaned as she sat up turning it off. She then rubbed her eyes before looking around, and then she remembered it was Monday.

She sighed and stood up, draping the blanket on the couch. August ran over to her, waiting for its food. Rebecca bent down and rubbed its ears before going into the kitchen to get its food and water.

After she dealt with the dog and cleaned up the living room as best as she could, she went and got into the shower, getting excited about starting her new job.

Colby had left almost twenty minutes before Rebecca woke up. They had both fell asleep on the couch, and he hated that he didn't wake up sooner to move Rebecca to her bed—just so she would get a good nights sleep—so when he woke up, he carefully moved himself off of her, setting her phone to go off at seven.

He had arrived at the office around seven thirty, and he went straight to the reception desk to make sure Renee was filling the other receptionist in on the tasks. He then went into his office, setting his stuff down on his desk.

He hated not being able to go to work with Rebecca at the same time, but they hadn't discussed how they were going to display their relationship, so he was playing it safe.

He then grabbed his list of new employees, and made sure they had clocked in. Rebecca, of course, clocked in as he got to her name, making him shake his head and laugh.

Rebecca walked in, and went straight to the staff lounge to grab her coat from her locker, and to place her purse inside. She also placed her ear piece in, making sure her mic was working so they could call for one another. After putting her essentials on, she straightened out her scrubs before going to one of the treatment rooms to get her supplies ready.

"How's things coming along?" She heard that familiar voice behind her.

She smiled and turned around. "Okay, I guess. Just nervous."

Colby nodded and then smirked. "Did I give you enough time to get ready this morning?" He said lowering his voice.

Rebecca looked around as she stood up. She then did a little shimmy showing off her scrubs. "Yep. I'm having a good hair day too."

Colby laughed and when another worker passed him with a patient he straightened up. "Alright then, I guess you've got everything." He then placed his hands in his pockets giving Rebecca a slight smile. "Are you ready for your first patient?"

Rebecca smiled and took a deep breath. "As ready as I can be."
