When Rebecca was done with the call, she stared at herself in the mirror with disgust. She wasn't ready to be a mother, and she knew it. Colby wasn't ready to be a father either, and she hated to admit that. They're just in the fourth month of their relationship, and now Rebecca would be bringing a life into the world. She bent down and splashed water in her face, trying to collect herself before walking back out towards Colby. "I called, and they made an appointment-"
Rebecca stopped when she realized Colby wasn't in her room. She walked to her door and opened it up going out to the living room, only to find out he wasn't there either. Or in the kitchen. Or anywhere in their apartment. She pulled out her phone to see if he left a message and when she didn't see any her stomach turned.
Colby drove down the street he's known almost his whole life with a fist pressed to his head. He left almost forty minutes ago, and as he got closer to Joseph's house, the more nervous he got.
Once he got to his street, he was met with a big black house—and a big bright white and blue bouncy house in the front yard. Colby pulled into his driveway and sighed. He eventually got out of the car and when he did he was met by laughter coming from the castle.
He smiled to himself as he walked towards the teenager standing in the yard. "Hey Jojo!"
Jojo, Joseph's daughter, turned around and smiled. "Colby? Hey!" She then walked over and gave him a hug. "If mom had told me you were coming over, I would have tried to have these guys calmed down." She said pointing towards her little brothers.
Colby smiled and watched the oldest twins jump up and down. "Looks like they're having a blast." He then looked back at her. "How's school?"
Jojo smiled. "It's good. I'm a sophomore now, and there's a lot of work, but I'm making the most out of it." She crossed her arms over her chest. "How are you? Dad told me you finally found someone."
Colby nodded and looked down. "Yeah...speaking of that, is Joe home? I really need to talk to him. Its about that someone."
Jojo gasped and laughed. "Dang, are y'all having relationship problems?" When he didn't say anything she stopped laughing. "He's inside watching football."
Colby gave her a thumbs up. "Thanks, Jojo."
He then walked up to the door and knocked. Joseph opened it up and furrowed his eyebrows. "Hey. What are you doing here?"
Colby shook his head. "I really need to talk to you."
Joseph rolled his eyes and opened the door further for him to come in. "Well I'm glad you came to me instead of Jon." He shut the door when Colby walked in. "He would have told you to drink some beer and take a nap." He then laughed and went to sit down on the couch—and instead of watching the game, he watched Colby pace back and forth in front of him. "Alright." He said turning off the tv. "What's going on?"
Colby shook his head and sighed. "Rebecca is pregnant and I don't know what to do."
Joseph's eyes went wide and he didn't say anything for a moment. "She took a pregnancy test as a joke because of some stupid game her and the girls were playing and it came back positive so then she took seven more tests and they all said positive and I'm freaking out and I'm trying not to because I told her I'm not going anywhere when in reality I want to swim away in a ocean somewhere because I'm not ready to be a dad and we've only been together for four months and—"
"Dude!" Joseph said cutting him off. "Calm down, man. You're talking WAY to fast." He then looked up at him sympathetically. "Is it yours?"
Colby shut his eyes and sat down on the couch in front of Joseph. "Yes, it's mine. Rebecca wouldn't cheat. Especially after the whole circus with Luke." He shook his head. "Joe she's pregnant...and I don't know what to do."
Joseph smiled and nodded. "I know how you feel...the same thing happened to me and Galina." He shook his head and looked at Colby. "It's scary, man. We were young, and had been dating for a few years, but still it's the biggest news anyone can receive. I was a nervous wreck, but I knew how much I loved and cared about her. Which meant I knew we were going to be able to get through it, together." Joseph took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to place his words. "Do you love her?"
Colby looked up at him. "More than anything. She's my soulmate, man."
Joseph nodded. "Then you've got this. I've seen you two with my own eyes and I can see how much you love and care for each other. It's going to be hard, but if you truly think she's your soulmate, you're going to make it work."
Colby slowly nodded. "How did you...cope with it all? Like how were you able to be there for her, but not show how worried you are for her?"
Joseph smiled. "That's the thing man. You can't. You're both going to have to find ways to help soothe one another, because you're both going to be scared. It's all part of the process."
Colby sighed. "You should be a therapist...you're good at this."
Joseph laughed and stood up, walking over to sit by Colby. "You ok?"
Colby nodded. "Yeah...I am now." He pressed his hands together. "I guess it all happened so fast and I didn't have time to...process all of my thoughts. She's the best thing to ever come into my life...and I didn't want to worry her more than she already is."
Joseph wrapped his arm around his shoulders. "I went through the same thing, man. You'll get through it if you love each other enough."
Colby looked over at him and smiled. "Thanks, Joe."
Joseph smiled and stood up. "No problem. And if you or Becks need anything, my door is always open." He then looked back and pressed his lips together. "Not literally, but you know what I mean."
