Colby don't know why he decided to track her. He had never done it before because he trusted Sarah, but he was so glad he did. Sarah told him she was staying late at work, so of course, he didn't suspect anything. When he had called her though, she never answered, even after the time she was "supposed" to leave. He tracked her down and followed her to the apartment complex, one which he had never been to before.

He didn't mean to seem like a stalker or anything, but when Clint, the security guard, lead him up to the floor, his heart sank. And for some reason, he saw Clint become disappointed too.

Thousands of thoughts ran through his head as he stood there and listened to whoever the man was behind the door, screwing his girlfriend. Who is this man? Why did he come after Sarah? Did she not tell him she was in a relationship? Maybe she contacted him first...

Another thought that ran through his head, was that whoever this man was in a relationship with—or if he was even in one—was going to be in the same situation he was. Mad. Annoyed. Jealous. Sad. Hurt.

He then shook it off and started pacing back and forth, trying to figure out how to deal with this situation. As Clint went back down the elevator, Colby paced, and paced, and paced...trying to calm himself down.

When he finally calmed down enough, he looked over towards the door, only to realize a woman was walking towards it. His eyes examined her body, looking at every aspect. Red hair, slim body, and...a ring on her finger. Crap. There is a relationship.

He didn't want her to walk in on them, and he certainly didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but he had to tell her.

Rebecca felt him squeeze her hand once again as the door began to open. They heard Luke laughing, and when the door was fully open, Colby saw him freeze as he looked at who was in front of him. "Becks?!"

Rebecca couldn't look up at him. Instead she looked down at her feet, trying to hold back the tears. When they heard Luke try to get closer, Colby grabbed her hand again and pulled them back. "Listen Becks, it's not what it looks like. I had no idea you were-"

Colby then watched as the door opened further, and he saw Sarah stick her head out. "What's the hold up Lu-"
Her mouth opened even further but nothing came out. "Colby...this isn't what it looks like."

Colby scoffed and shook his head. Again, he squeezed Rebecca's hand, and then they walked down the hallway towards the elevator with Sarah following them. "Please Colby, it's not what it looks like. Just give me a few minutes to explain." When the elevator's doors opened, Colby and Rebecca walked inside still not saying a word, leaving Sarah standing there screaming at them.

Once the elevator began to move, Colby looked down at Rebecca. "Are you ok?"

Rebecca pressed her lips together and nodded slowly. "I will be...later...after I've cried myself to sleep."

Colby rubbed a thumb over their hands. "Do you have a place to stay?"

Rebecca then batted her eyes as she realized she just lost her apartment. "Uhm...I have a few friends who live on East Town. I'll call them and ask if I can stay."

Colby nodded as they reached the bottom floor. He lead them out onto the hallway, and when Rebecca saw Clint sitting in his chair at the front, she realized why he didn't smile at her. He felt sorry for her.

She gave him a small smile and before walking out of the doors, she let go of Colby's hand, walking over to Clint to hug him. "I'm sorry sweetheart...". Rebecca closed her eyes. "You know where to find me if you need anything. Maybe I'll even find you."

Rebecca smiled as she stood back up. "I'll see you around Clint."

Colby smiled as Rebecca grabbed his hand again, and then the two walked out the apartment building, never turning back. They walked across the street to where their cars were parked and finally let go of each others hands. Rebecca stood in front of him while Colby leaned back against his car. "Are you going to be ok?" She asked.

Colby sighed. He played with his car key before looking up at her nodding. "Yeah. I'll be ok, after I've cried myself to sleep."

Rebecca laughed which made Colby smile. "It was really nice meeting you, Colby. Even if it was the worst moments of our life."

Colby smiled. The two stood there in silence, listening to the busy traffic around them. Their whole lives had changed in the past hour, and neither of them knew what to do. Rebecca has spent the last 3 years living with Luke, and now she wouldn't be walking into their home ever again. Colby's life had always had Sarah in it, and now he wouldn't have to spend another second of it with her again.

"I'm glad you were there." Rebecca said making Colby look over at her. "That would have been a lot worse if I walked in on them..."

Colby nodded and stood up straight. "Yeah...I'm sorry about the wedding and stuff. I know you've got a dress, and wedding supplies and now..."

Rebecca sighed. "Yeah a lot of money down the drain."

Rebecca then smiled and looked up at Colby, spreading her arms out. Colby stepped forward and accepted the hug. "I hope everything works out for you."

Colby nodded as he gave her a soft squeeze. "I hope everything works out for you too."

Rebecca then stepped back and opened her car and then Colby stood there watching her drive away. He then sighed again as he saw Sarah walk out of the apartment building. He rolled his eyes and hopped in his car, leaving all of his—and Rebecca's—problems behind him.
